Ever since Rihanna touched down in Mumbai, the internet hasn’t been able to keep calm. The global pop sensation arrived to celebrate the India debut of her beauty empire, with an exclusive “Fenty Beauty Ki Haveli” pop-up event.

The event that was supposed to mark the brand’s expansion, actually landed up with not just glam, but chaos too!
Fenty’s Mumbai event, hosted at Phoenix Palladium, quickly became a talking point as influencers shared stories of chaos. From the late arrival of the pop star to not getting the chance to meet her, and left to pose with an AI-generated Rihanna, the chatter has set the Internet ablaze.
Reel Creator, Aishwarya Singh Dhargotra wrote, “Just a dream for now… but not forever ✨ This image is AI-generated, a little visualisation of a moment I’ve always imagined — standing beside Rihanna at an event like this. Not because I want to force the moment, but because I truly believe some dreams are meant to find their way to us. Saving this here as a reminder — what feels unreal today might just be a memory someday.”
These posts only fueled speculation: was the Fenty Beauty experience so fleeting that it felt unreal, or was AI- Rihanna an excuse to feel good about the chaos? Was the joke on us? Many were left asking.
The visit was anything but low-key. Rihanna soaked in the India experience with an infectious curiosity. From posing for paparazzi, filming reels with beauty creators, to attempting a quick Bharatanatyam lesson and dancing alongside at the DJ console, she was the party, quite literally!

Above that, her visit at the Ambani family’s home, Antilia and performing full desi rituals, from aarti, feeding a cow, to a floral shower celebration, caught everyone’s fancy. It showed her both slides, one that’s business-oriented boss lady, while also not missing on the fun.

Even her statement jewellery from Manish Malhotra and Sabyasachi Mukherjee fused global couture with Indian craftsmanship, and stole the spotlight. So what was the problem?
Ironically, Rihanna has herself previously pushed back against AI misuse. Last year, the singer responded to a video titled *Rihanna’s Most Expensive Purchases, which featured a voice closely resembling hers, but was ultimately revealed to be AI-generated.

The clip detailed her supposed luxury lifestyle, from real estate to travel, with the synthetic voice stating, “First up, my Beverly Hills mansion, worth $13 million, and my rented house in London that costs about 50,000 per week … When I need to fly, my Gulfstream G550 private jet worth $61 million makes every trip first class.” Rihanna called out this fabricated voiceover video and commented, “Who tf is this talking??!”

The remark underscores her discomfort with artificial recreations, making the AI frenzy around her Mumbai visit all the more ironic.
