Kiara Advani’s First Pregnancy Style Is Worth Revisiting Now

Kiara Advani is entering another chapter of motherhood, and if her first pregnancy was anything to go by, her wardrobe may be worth watching just as closely. The actor and Sidharth Malhotra announced on October 7 that they are expecting their second child, sharing the news with a sweet family photograph featuring their daughter Saraayah and a pair of tiny baby socks.

The announcement inevitably brings back memories of Advani’s first pregnancy, when her maternity wardrobe moved comfortably between high fashion, holiday dressing and understated everyday looks. She never appeared to have a separate maternity aesthetic. Instead, her existing fashion language simply evolved around her changing silhouette.

Making Maternity Look Luxe

One of the earliest looks from her first pregnancy was also one of the most striking. Hours before she and Sidharth announced that they were expecting their first child, Advani attended a Tira event in a black Balenciaga ensemble. The outfit paired an oversized satin-jacquard top with an asymmetrical midi skirt, while chunky gold jewellery and Louboutin heels gave the otherwise monochromatic look a dramatic finish.

The look established an approach that would recur throughout her pregnancy: relaxed proportions did not mean sacrificing glamour. An oversized silhouette could still feel polished when balanced with statement accessories and a strong designer presence.

Her airport appearances offered a softer side of the wardrobe. At Mumbai airport in March 2025, she stepped out in an Alemais floral sundress with a breezy silhouette, strappy flats, oversized sunglasses and a Louis Vuitton tote.

On another outing, she opted for a INR 15,900 (approx.) floral Nautanky co-ord featuring a relaxed shirt and straight-leg trousers.

The Statement-Making Chapter

Then came the look that elevated her first pregnancy wardrobe into a genuine fashion moment, i.e., the 2025 Met Gala.

Expecting her first child, Advani became the first Indian actor to walk the Met Gala steps while pregnant. She wore a custom Gaurav Gupta creation featuring an antique-gold sculptural breastplate representing mother and child, connected by a chain-like detail resembling an umbilical cord. A dramatic black-and-white cape completed the look, while diamonds and gold jewellery added further grandeur.

It was less about dressing around pregnancy and more about making motherhood part of the fashion narrative itself.

That balance is what made Kiara’s first pregnancy style memorable. During a house-hunting outing in Mumbai, Kiara kept things casual in a loose pink Balenciaga shirt, black pants and beige flats.

Her babymoon wardrobe embraced cosy textures, from a cable-knit Sandro Paris jumper to a white woollen shawl and beige faux-fur jacket.

Her next maternity chapter is likely to bring a new set of silhouettes, designers and fashion moments, but the first one remains a useful reminder that pregnancy dressing need not have a single formula.
