The Plot

Season 3 brings its characters five years into the future—no longer high schoolers, but young adults navigating messy, often dangerous realities. Rue’s arc is especially volatile, as she finds herself entangled with drug lords in Mexico, with danger closing in from multiple directions. The newly released trailers paint a feverish picture: Rue is interrogated by drug enforcement officers, forced into risky situations, and warned that powerful figures are hunting her down. One chilling thread reveals that Laurie, the ominous dealer from the previous season, is not her only threat, with another shadowy figure, Alamo, entering the chase.

Meanwhile, Cassie (Sweeney) takes a provocative turn as an adult content creator, married to Nate (Elordi), whose own life appears equally chaotic. A glimpse of their wedding hints at spectacle, something creator Sam Levinson has teased will be “unforgettable.” Adding to the drama, Maddy (Alexa Demie) re-enters Cassie’s orbit in an unexpected role. Elsewhere, Jules (Hunter Schafer) is carving out a life in art school while navigating complex relationships, adding emotional layers to the show.

Cast and new additions

The prime cast includes Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Maude Apatow, Hunter Schafer and Alexa Demie. The secondary cast has returning faces like Colman Domingo, Maude Apatow, Dominic Fike and Chloe Cherry, while new appearances include Sharon Stone, Rosalía, Natasha Lyonne, Danielle Deadwyler, Eli Roth, Marshawn Lynch and more. With a massive cast, expect this season to carry an emotional undercurrent, edgy plot twists, thrilling chases and higher stakes that promise both chaos and catharsis.
