A dazzling tribute to watchmaking artistry unfolds on the Chopard Rooftop during the Cannes Film Festival, spotlighting the artisans behind the Maison’s timeless creations
An immersive universe of watchmaking genius was created on a star-studded Wednesday night at the Cannes Film Festival at the Chopard Rooftop, which overlooked the glittering Croisette. In honour of the Maison’s longstanding commitment to workmanship, Chopard Co-Presidents Caroline and Karl-Friedrich Scheufele welcomed guests for a glowing homage to the artistry that goes into their watches.
The event was more than just a get-together; it was a Haute Horlogerie workshop, carrying on the “Meet our Artisans” campaign, which was first launched in 2020. The event, which was co-hosted by Wei Koh, a renowned watch journalist and collector, highlighted the frequently overlooked individuals that create Chopard’s horological marvels. Juline, a young watchmaker who joined Chopard in 2018, was the focal point of the occasion. A unique look into the delicate alchemy of Chopard’s creations was provided to guests through her live display of complex watchmaking procedures, ranging from building perpetual calendars to fine-tuning moonphases.
As guests interacted with the creativity and legacy that characterise Chopard’s watchmaking philosophy, the ambiance was equal parts exquisite and instructive. The Maison’s most recent innovations, the L.U.C. Flying T Twin Perpetual and the L.U.C. Lunar One, were included in this year’s display. These engineering marvels demonstrate the brand’s dedication to both classic style and technical mastery.
The evening unfolded like a sensual tapestry, despite the cogs and dials. Guests were allowed to enjoy handcrafted cigars at a live cigar-rolling station, which was accompanied by carefully selected tastings of aged rhum and excellent cognac. An air of personal delight was imparted by this homage to the sophisticated pleasures that connoisseurs and collectors love.

As the evening went on, guests assembled for a sharing-style supper prepared by Cipriani, which included traditional Italian fare and vintages from Karl-Friedrich Scheufele’s biodynamic vineyard, Château Monestier La Tour. Chopard ambassadors Jacky Ickx and Zhang Linghe, Paul and Zulay Pogba, Karolina Kurkova, Wiliam Abadie, and James Franco were among the notable people on the guest list.
Musical enchantment came in the form of an acoustic set by the Knights Club, setting a soulful tone before DJ Cruz elevated the night with an electrifying performance beneath the open sky.
In true Chopard fashion, the event was not only a celebration of timepieces but of the people and passion that make them eternal.
