The latter half of the year always brings a flurry of sparkle and spotlight with marquee red carpet events. Post the glitz of the VMAs and the “formal”-glamour of the Venice Film Festival, the spotlight has now shifted to Peacock Theatre at Los Angeles for television’s biggest celebration — the 77th Emmy Awards. Hosted by the Television Academy, the Emmys remain the gold standard for honouring the top talent and shows in television. This year, while series like Severance, The White Lotus, Adolescence, The Studio, and The Penguin won big, it was the red carpet that set social media ablaze with stand-out looks.

From classic shades of crimson, maroon, black, ivory, and silver to daring fashion moments that pushed the envelope, the night was a masterclass in style. Celebrities turned heads with everything from strapless gowns and plunging necklines to barely-there jewel-encrusted tops and thigh-high slits. Here’s a roundup of the best-dressed looks from the 77th Emmy Awards that made us stop, stare, and scroll twice.

Sydney Sweeney

Sydney Sweeney knows how to stay at the top of headlines. After raising-eyerows with the controversial American Eagle’s jeans campaign and causing a political firestorm she now becomes the talk of the town at the 77th Emmy Awards. Dressed in a strapless red Oscar de la Renta gown with a revealing décolletage, a cinched waist and a sweeping train, paired with striking 175 carats Lorraine Schwartz diamonds, she gave a head-turning moment.

Jenna Ortega

The Wednesday actor is often seen dishing out a goth-inspired style with blacks, nets, leather, lace and platform boots at red carpets. This time she stole the spotlight in a bold jewel-and pearl embedded barely there top paired with a slit skirt in a dramatic and edgy look. Not to forget, her deep burgundy red lipstick looked striking, amplifying the air of goth around her.

Lisa

As part of the The White Lotus Season 3 which had 23 nominations at The 77th Emmy Awards, Lisa seemed to be emerging out of fairy-dust with an asymmetrical hem baby pink tulle gown by Lever Couture. The enchanting look was completed with glittering BVLGARI jewellery featuring the iconic Serpenti, matching stone-studded nail-art and Christian Louboutin heels.

Meghann Fahy

Nominated for Sirens, Meghann Fahy’s long black velvet fitted-gown with a wide plunging neckline, and thigh-high slit grabbed eyeballs. Complemented with shining Tiffany & Co. jewellery and high-hells her outfit exuded elegant seduction.

Aimee Lou Wood

Actor Aimee Lou Wood is best known for Sex Education and has now become a fan-favourite with her appearance in The White Lotus Season 3 and won her first Emmy for Best Supporting Actress. She wore a dreamy strapless Alexander McQueen satin gown in soft hues of pink with a dip-down neckline revealing a contrasting red staples bra. The look was paired with pink pumps and minimalist accessories and matching red nail-paint.

Colman Domingo

Men at the 77th Emmy Awards kept it classic with tailored-tuxedos. Colman Dominogo who won Outstanding Supporting Actor for The Four Seasons stood-out in a dapper powder-blue Valentino suit. It featured jewel-fringes and crystal embroidery for a glam-look, and was elevated with a matching stole.

Pedro Pascal

The eminent actor who won an Emmy for The Last of Us, sported an all-white double-breasted buttoned ivory suit by Celine. It was paired with playful round sunglasses and white shoes which added a contemporary flair to a timeless look.

Alan Cumming

The actor who won two Emmys for The Traitors wore a black tuxedo with white piping from Tanner Fletcher paired with a matching black shirt. The ensemble featured a big black scarf bow with a white piping adding a whimsical and playful touch to the outfit.
