Maurice Lacroix Unveils the All-New FIABA Square Collection – All Deets Inside

A bold reimagining of a classic—where Swiss craftsmanship meets fluid design, individuality, and a touch of fairy-tale magic

May 30, 2025

With the breathtaking launch of the FIABA Square, a new chapter in the FIABA collection that honours the past while fully embracing the spirit of contemporary, Maurice Lacroix is rewriting the history of luxury timepieces. This new collection, which features twelve specially designed models, is a carefully chosen celebration of uniqueness, style, and metamorphosis rather than just a line of timepieces.

“FIABA,” which translates to “fairy tale” in Italian, is not a coincidence. It alludes not only to style but also to the power of narrative, growth, and evolution. This essence is brought to life by Maurice Lacroix, which infuses the FIABA Square with the tactile precision of Swiss watchmaking as well as the wonder of imagination.

Rooted in history, yet defiantly forward-looking, the FIABA Square reinterprets the collection’s original 1980s rectangular design, drawing from a decade renowned for its boldness and flair. But this isn’t merely a nostalgic nod—it’s a complete metamorphosis. The sharp angles of yesteryear have given way to softer, flowing curves, resulting in a case inspired by the natural contours of a smooth pebble. The effect is one of harmony: the strength of a square fused with the organic appeal of a circle.

With twelve new designs, the FIABA Square is as diverse as the personalities it seeks to represent. Gold lovers will be drawn to the four single-tone gold PVD editions. Two of these feature Steel Gold PVD 4N for a rich, rosy gleam, while the other two opt for classic yellow hues in Gold PVD 2N. Each is offered with either a matching bracelet or a calf-leather strap—easily changeable to suit every mood or occasion.

For those who favor contrast and bold expression, the collection also boasts four bi-tone variants—two in 4N and two in 2N. Each comes with the option of a steel bracelet or calf-leather strap, making them ideal for stacking with other jewelry or standing boldly on their own. A sleek Steel Silver model brings subtlety and minimalist charm, while four additional steel-cased watches offer a splash of color with leather straps in black, brown, pistachio green, and sky blue.

Beneath the surface, the attention to detail continues. Every dial features a refined flinqué pattern—a geometric ripple design that radiates from the center, lending texture and sophistication. Roman numerals mark the hours, while sword-shaped hands glide effortlessly across the dial. In the pistachio and sky blue variants, a luminous white mother-of-pearl dial adds a sense of dynamic elegance and energy. All models are protected by sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating, ensuring clarity in any lighting condition.

The 24mm x 34mm case is water-resistant up to 5 ATM, delivering both grace and resilience for the demands of everyday life.
