At the recently-concluded Lakmē Fashion Week X FDCI, Outlook Luxe asked showstopper Vaani Kapoor about which celebrity throws the best Diwali parties in India. “Manish Malhotra”, she said in a jiffy. And a day later on October 12, the celebrated couturier hosted his annual pre-Diwali party, at his Mumbai residence.
The star-studded affair had the who’s who of Bollywood — from Kareena Kapoor Khan in an Anarkali suit reflecting a regal persona to Kriti Sanon and Jacqueline Fernandez opting for a more Western glamour with embellished gowns and crop top paired with fitted skirt, to Rekha opting for her usual graceful silk saree and Suhana Khan experimenting with a fresh colour palette in a vintage recycled saree, we decode celebrity-style at Manish Malhotra’s grand pre-Diwali bash that transformed the party to a runway.
Kareena stunned in a classic white chikankari suit that was unmistakably regal and elegant. She paired it with statement Jadau pearl earrings, smoky eye makeup, bindi and an ivory potli along with crystal studded strappy heels in an understated yet majestic look.
Both actresses chose to be playful yet glamorous for the Manish Malhotra party. While Sanon wore a matching bustier with fitted skirt embedded with green and orange patterned stone-work, Fernandez opted for a sculptural gown with a translucent trail crossing the body for a sheer look.

The mother and daughter-in-law duo who usually embrace traditional designs, this time chose a contemporary look with Indian silhouettes. Nita Ambani draped a silver saree carrying diamond-studded Hermès Kelly bag while Radhika Merchant opted for a beige sequin saree with elegant silvery necklace set.
A trio of friends arrived, turning the pre-Diwali party into a red carpet event giving stylish BFF goals. While Arora slayed in a gold and silver metallic lehenga featuring a cropped bralette-style blouse, Seema channelised high-octane glamour in a grey sequin metallic kaftan-style one shoulder dress while Amruta’s silver lehenga looked quiete ostentatious look.

Youthful and elegant, Shahrukh Khan’s daughter Suhana opted for a purple recycled saree crafted from older borders that Manish Malhotra had collected in his studio over the years. It showed that eco-friendly fashion can equally lend an exquisite look.
Opting for yet another timeless yellow silk saree, Rekha arrived almost as a showstopper for Manish Malhotra’s pre-Diwali bash. She paired the saree-look with heavy jewellery like muti-layered necklace, maangtikka, and bangles to make it a truly traditional attire for the celebration.
The singer wore one of the most experimental pieces from the bash — a crop top which resembled an art piece masquerading as a blouse over a metallic gold saree. The ornate blouse was unconventional, bold, and studded with embroidery and coloured stonework.
Choosing a delicate and graceful look, Genelia wore a tissue fabric kuta set in a mehendi colour. She paired it with a Rajasthani hasli choker set that brought a royal look in a subtle, harmonious and festive fashion.
