Some partnerships make perfect sense on paper. Others, like a sports car maker and an Italian espresso machine specialist, make sense the moment you taste the result. Both worlds share a devotion to craft, a taste for engineering that is as beautiful as it is functional, and a loyal community of enthusiasts who judge quality by the smallest details. A well-pulled shot of espresso and a well-driven 911 each reward patience, precision and a keen sense of ritual. It is no surprise, then, that Porsche and La Marzocco have decided to build on the success of their 2024 collaboration with a second collection. This time, the inspiration is one of the most celebrated cars ever to leave Zuffenhausen, and the result is a limited-edition range that brings motorsport heritage to the morning routine, turning the kitchen counter into a small tribute to the road.

A Tribute to an Icon

The collection takes its cue from the Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7, presented in 1972 as a homologation model for motorsport, with production limited to 500 units. Thanks to rigorous lightweight construction, striking design and strong performance, it became a coveted road-legal sports car. It was also the first 911 to carry the “Carrera” name and side lettering, a nod to Porsche’s successes in the Carrera Panamericana road race, while “RS” signalled its focus on racing and rallying. Its most distinctive feature was the rear spoiler, nicknamed the “ducktail” for its shape. The fastest German production car of its time, it still enjoys cult status among collectors and enthusiasts.

The Linea Micra, Dressed for the Track

The collection’s centrepiece is the premium Linea Micra espresso machine

The collection’s centrepiece is the premium Linea Micra espresso machine, available in three historic Porsche colour combinations: Grand Prix White – Green, Tangerine – Black and Grand Prix White – Blue. The distinctive “Carrera RS” lettering, paired with the historic Porsche logo, runs through all three. The details go further. The cup rail is inspired by the ducktail spoiler, the black handles carry laser-engraved “RS” and “2.7” markings and the analogue manometers with red and green indicators are styled in the Porsche look. A magnetic badge with an “RS 2.7” graphic completes the design, and a limited-edition plaque on the side reads “One of 911.”

Barista Performance at Home

Beneath the styling, the Linea Micra is a serious tool. This compact portafilter

Beneath the styling, the Linea Micra is a serious tool. This compact portafilter machine brings La Marzocco’s professional performance and quality to home coffee preparation. A convertible 3-in-1 portafilter allows quick switches between single spout, double spout and bottomless setups, while the brew lever combines the classic mechanics of a paddle with the reliability of an electric switch. An insulated steam wand, an easily accessible two-litre water tank and LED barista lights add to the practicality, and the La Marzocco Home app allows control of temperature, settings and schedules. Alongside it sits the Pico coffee grinder, completing the pair for the dedicated home barista.

The partnership extends beyond the machines. Handcrafted espresso and cappuccino cups reflect the colours and design cues of the 911 Carrera RS 2.7, and the range also includes barista towels, coaster sets and coffee canisters. Apparel and accessories, including hoodies, T-shirts, caps and socks, come in the Grand Prix White – Green and Tangerine – Black colourways. For collectors who like to keep the story playful, 1:18-scale model cars of the Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 are offered, including a miniature coffee machine, which underlines the connection between the two brands with a smile.

True to the spirit of the car that inspired it, the espresso machines are produced in limited numbers.

True to the spirit of the car that inspired it, the espresso machines are produced in limited numbers. The Grand Prix White – Green and Tangerine – Black versions are each limited to 911 units, a number that carries its own meaning. The Grand Prix White – Blue variant is available exclusively in Germany and is limited to 150 units. That scarcity gives the collection the same sense of occasion as the car that inspired it.

Where Passion Meets Ritual

What makes the collaboration appealing is its attention to feeling. Rather than slapping a logo on a product, Porsche and La Marzocco have translated the personality of the 911 Carrera RS 2.7 into something that can be touched, pulled and poured every morning. The result combines a passion for exceptional design, motorsport tradition and coffee culture in a single experience that reaches well beyond the road.
