Paris has long represented more than a fashion destination for Gaurav Gupta. It is where the designer first began imagining what it could mean for his sculptural couture to exist within the global fashion conversation. That relationship took a more permanent form as Gaurav Gupta Couture opened its first Paris showroom at 6 Rue Jean Goujon, in the city’s Golden Triangle.
Spread across 300 square metres, the space gives the house a permanent presence beyond the concentrated rhythm of Haute Couture Week. Housed within a 1930 building designed by French architect Charles Lemaresquier, the showroom brings together the character of the historic setting with Gupta’s own visual language, incorporating Indian craftsmanship, artworks and furniture designed by the couturier.

A Couture Salon In Paris
The new address marks the next chapter in Gupta’s relationship with Paris, which began with the house presenting during Paris Haute Couture Week. After returning across subsequent seasons, Gupta presented ‘Shunya’ in Paris in 2023, further establishing the house within the city’s couture circuit and eventually inspiring the idea of a permanent home.

Leading the new Couture Salon is Jean-Paul Cornut, who brings more than a decade of experience in Parisian Haute Couture, including his previous role as Haute Couture Director at Elie Saab. His appointment gives the salon an experienced Parisian hand as it develops into a space where clients can engage more closely with Gupta’s work.

That intimacy is central to what the new address offers. Away from the compressed schedule of fashion week, clients can spend more time with the clothes, understand the techniques behind them and engage with the ideas that shape each creation. Gupta’s couture is built around that dialogue between garment and wearer, with sculptural silhouettes, intricate craftsmanship and unexpected forms demanding a closer look.

Indian House Finds a Home
The Paris showroom arrives as Gupta continues to build an international following for a design language that draws on Indian craftsmanship while looking firmly towards the surreal and futuristic.

His couture has become recognisable for its sculptural forms, intricate techniques and dramatic silhouettes, dressing cultural figures including Beyoncé, Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Shakira, Kim Kardashian and Fan Bingbing. The house also has an international retail presence through stores including Harrods, Bergdorf Goodman and Bloomingdale’s.

The new address therefore represents more than an expansion of the house’s global footprint. It gives Gupta’s distinctive universe, where couture meets sculpture, mythology and contemporary Indian craftsmanship, a permanent setting in one of fashion’s most important capitals. After years of appearing in Paris, Gaurav Gupta Couture now has an address to call its own.
