Aishwarya Rai Bachchan returned to the L’Oréal Paris runway at Le Défilé 2026 with the Eiffel Tower behind her and a Yara Shoemaker couture creation designed to catch the light at every turn. The Miss World 1994 winner walked at Place Joffre on September 28 in black velvet, crystal embellishment and a newly revealed burgundy hair colour, bringing together the fashion and beauty codes that have long defined her association with the brand.
The setting was grand but Bachchan’s entrance had its own visual rhythm. The gown moved with three-dimensional fringe embroidery, while a sweeping cape followed behind, its crystal and pearl embellishment catching the light against the dark velvet. The result was an ensemble that revealed its details gradually rather than all at once.

The gown came from Yara Shoemaker’s Fall/Winter 2026-27 couture collection, with velvet forming the foundation for its sculptural silhouette. The fringe embroidery gave the fabric movement, while the cape expanded the shape as Bachchan walked. Its surface shifted from deep black to flashes of crystal, with a galaxy-inspired dégradé effect adding another dimension to the embellishment.
The jewellery continued that celestial note. A diamond-encrusted crown-like headpiece framed Bachchan’s face, accompanied by diamond rings and matching pumps. With the cape already providing much of the sparkle, the accessories extended the idea without turning the outfit into a collection of competing details.
