Satya Paul reinvented its design identity by presenting a unique blend of print, drape and artistic expression to the global stage in the Satya Paul menswear and womenswear range.

Presented at Lancaster House in London, the showcase marked the first international presentation under the creative direction of Aseem Kapoor and signalled a new chapter for the brand as it expanded its creative universe across both womenswear and menswear.

Dialogue Between Legacy and Modernity

Presented as part of SXSW London following an invitation from the UK Department for Business and Trade, the showcase reflected Satya Paul’s evolving design philosophy combining an immersive experience that focused on fashion, art, movement and live performance. The collection featured fluid drapes, bold prints and artistic expression that created a living dialogue between legacy and modernity.

Untamed, the showcase embodied a free, instinctive expression of Satya Paul’s universe. Rooted in the brand’s enduring values of individuality, self-expression and artistic freedom, Untamed explored how print, drape, movement and sound can come together to create an immersive and contemporary cultural experience. At the centre of the presentation was the saree, long regarded as Satya Paul’s enduring muse.

Drawing inspiration from the natural world, bygone histories and ancient sculptural forms found across the Indian subcontinent. Vibrant prints merged with the body in evolving silhouettes that celebrated movement, individuality and freedom.

The Language of Print

Satya Paul’s mastery of printmaking was showcased through collections that combined archival motifs with a contemporary visual language, reflecting a renewed creative direction under Aseem Kapoor. The presentation featured signature prints including reinterpreted archival zebra motifs, expressive bird illustrations and graphic dot-and-stripe patterns translated across draped silhouettes and statement separates.

The prints, once largely confined to florals, have now been swapped for archival excavations that feel far more dangerous. Exotic polka-dotted snakes, tiger and zebra slashes, fish-scale motifs, and an archival peacock-feather print drifting across delicate silks and chiffons.

“At Satya Paul, print has never simply been a surface treatment; it has always been a point of view. For decades, the brand has used print as a language to express individuality, emotion and cultural storytelling,” said Aseem Kapoor, Creative Director, Satya Paul.

Kapoor added that presenting this legacy in London was an opportunity to bring that spirit onto a global stage while exploring how Indian design can continue to evolve in a way that feels contemporary, immersive and universally relevant.

If this collection served as a teaser for Satya Paul’s next act, it was one marked by confidence, character and a renewed appetite for experimentation. Through bold print narratives, fluid silhouettes and the debut of menswear, Aseem Kapoor offered a glimpse of a house looking to its archives not for nostalgia, but for reinvention.
