In a campaign that evokes sun-drenched leisure and cinematic elegance, the House unveils the 2018 Gucci Tennis collection, marking a new chapter in Gucci’s continuous relationship with the tennis world. Drawing inspiration from archive codes and the House’s initial tennis-themed collections from the 1970s, the collection honours the classic charm and carefree self-assurance of the sport’s attitude.

The ad, shot on a sunny court and in the nostalgic atmosphere of a tennis club, shows paused moments, a glance-to-glance exchange, a silent pre-game halt, and a minute to absorb everything. The ambiance is infused with mystery, but in the midst of the silence, the musicians move with fluid motions and effortless ease, perfectly capturing the essence of the collection.

The Gucci Tennis collection, ranging from accessories, handbags, and ready-to-wear with a sports theme, captures the upscale way of life of tennis players. The distinctive Web stripe is frequently used to accentuate women’s fashions, which are crisp and pleated and stylistically reinterpret traditional tennis whites. Men’s polo shirts with sharp, crisp collars evoke a vibe from the 1970s. While handbags and duffle bags made of GG Monogram canvas with leather trim evoke the House’s tradition of sport-infused craftsmanship, accessories like headbands and shiny aviators give a nostalgic touch.

Also featured in the campaign is an exclusive tennis racket created in collaboration with HEAD. The limited-edition Gucci x HEAD racket highlights the House’s longstanding connection with the tennis world through a bold design that blends performance with distinct design elements.

Gucci’s Web stripe adorns the frame, and the Interlocking Gemblem sits in the middle of the red string bed. With its anti-vibration dampener and balanced power and control design, the Speed MP racket combines technical performance with distinctive elegance. The seamless fusion of design and function is further reinforced by the blue case that each racket comes in, which features the Gucci Web, a zip pocket, and an adjustable strap.
