Durga Puja arrives with its own culinary vocabulary, including fragrant gobindobhog rice, cholar dal, luchi, bhaja, kosha mangsho, fish cooked with mustard and, of course, the comforting simplicity of bhog. For Durga Puja 2026 food experiences, Kolkata’s hotels, Bengali restaurants and heritage addresses are bringing these familiar flavours to the table in different ways, with this year’s festive menus spanning traditional vegetarian bhog and elaborate Bengali feasts.

Kolkata’s dining scene gets particularly lively during the festival, with grand hotel spreads sharing the spotlight with restaurants rooted in the city’s culinary traditions. Here are some of the addresses serving special menus for the occasion.

Sovabazar Rajbari

Sovabazar Rajbari is serving a 12-item vegetarian bhog lunch from Shashthi to Navami, October 16 to 20. While the individual dishes have not been announced, the meal stays close to the traditional niramish bhog associated with Durga Puja.

The historic North Kolkata rajbari brings another layer to the experience. Its Puja dates back centuries, making a meal here particularly tied to the city’s festive traditions. The emphasis is on the bhog itself, served in a setting where the rituals and history of Puja remain part of the surroundings.

The Bridge, THE Park Kolkata

The Bridge at THE Park Kolkata is marking the festive season with ‘Bhoj O Adda’, a Durga Puja feast running from October 16 to 20. The offering takes its cue from the easy conversations and long meals that are synonymous with Puja in Kolkata.

The hotel is also offering a Puja stay package with breakfast, a Mahabhoj for two and access to celebrations including aarti, pushpanjali, sindoor khela, dhak and dhunuchi. It gives guests the option of making the festive meal part of a longer Puja stay.

YAYAvar, Hyatt Centric Ballygunge

YAYAvar at Hyatt Centric Ballygunge is bringing ‘Shaktir Mahabhoj’ to its festive calendar, with a buffet served during lunch and dinner. The buffet format allows the meal to unfold at an unhurried pace, with a broader selection of festive dishes rather than a single bhog plate. It is suited to groups looking to sit down over a substantial spread during the Puja holidays.

Pala, ITC Sonar

Pala at ITC Sonar is taking the feast route with ‘The Sonar Mahabhoj’, running from October 18 to 20. The menu brings together Bengali favourites including luchi with cholar dal, mangsher chop, chingri malaicurry, fish paturi, kakrar jhal, kosha mangsho and Kolkata gosht biryani. Mishti doi and rosogolla round off the spread.

There is plenty here for a long Bengali lunch, with familiar festive dishes appearing alongside preparations that give the menu more breadth. Set within ITC Sonar, the meal also brings the scale and service of a luxury hotel to a cuisine that is deeply tied to Kolkata’s identity.

Aaheli, Peerless Hotel

Aaheli at Peerless Hotel is preparing its own Durga Puja offering across its Sarat Bose Road and Axis Mall outlets. The 2026 announcement includes thali, buffet and à la carte formats, allowing diners to choose between different styles of Bengali festive dining.

The restaurant keeps the focus firmly on Bengali cuisine, making its Puja menu a natural choice for diners who want a dedicated regional spread rather than a broader international hotel buffet.

This year’s Durga Puja menus make room for both sides of Kolkata’s food culture: bhog served with the simplicity of tradition and expansive Bengali feasts designed for long lunches and dinners. Either way, the city’s most anticipated festival comes with plenty to look forward to at the table.
