Ahead of the release, their label YG Entertainment shared: “Even amid the intense schedule of a large-scale world tour, the members devoted significant time and effort to perfecting this album. We are confident it is a body of work that encapsulates both the individual musical capabilities of the four members and their synergy as a team.”

Records That DEADLINE Broke

DEADLINE surpassed the previous benchmark set by Korean girl group Aespa’s 2023 mini-album My World, which sold 1.37 million copies on day one. It also outperformed BLACKPINK’s own 2022 release Born Pink, which sold 1.01 million copies in its first 24 hours — a figure later topped by NewJeans’ Get Up EP (1.19 million) and LE SSERAFIM’s UNFORGIVEN (1.02 million).

With such a big milestone, DEADLINE enters the spotlight vying against Bruno Mars’ comeback album and his first solo project in a decade, The Romantic. The moment feels especially full-circle after Mars teamed up with BLACKPINK’s Rosé for last year’s critically acclaimed hit “APT.”

About BLACKPINK’s DEADLINE

Arriving four years after the quartet Lisa, Jennie, Jisoo and Rosé last topped the Billboard 200 with Born Pink, DEADLINE delivers five tracks. The album features the Lead single “Jump” which dropped released last year and soared to No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100. The other tracks include “Go”, “Me and My”, “Champion” and “Fxxxboy”.

For BLINKs, the album marks a long-awaited reunion after the girl group actively pursued their respective solo careers. Previously, Lisa, Rosé and Jennie had released their debut solo albums Alter Ego, Rosie and Ruby, respectively while Jisoo introduced her EP Amortage. Lisa had also appeared in the critically acclaimed drama The White Lotus, Jennie featured in drama series The Idol, and Jisoo took the lead in Netflix’s upcoming Boyfriend on Demand.

The Road to DEADLINE

Before the album’s arrival, BLACKPINK reunited on the Deadline World Tour, which kicked off on July 5, 2025, at Goyang Stadium and culminated on January 26, 2026, at Kai Tak Stadium.

In August 2025, the K-Pop girl group also made history by headlining a show at Wembley Stadium, becoming the first K-pop girl group to do so. By now, it’s safe to say that their newest drop as a group, DEADLINE, wasn’t just a comeback; it was a moment!
