For decades, Aston Martin has built cars that belong outside grand hotels, winding Alpine roads and the world’s finest concours lawns. Then someone handed its designers an entirely blank canvas and asked a rather ridiculous question. What if an Aston Martin had to survive a modern battlefield instead? Freed from crash regulations, production costs and the stubborn laws of physics, the design team created something no British luxury marque has ever attempted before. The result is the Aston Martin Dreadnought, a digital only tactical SUV built exclusively for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4. It is not simply another branded vehicle dropped into a video game. It is a fascinating experiment in how one of Britain’s oldest luxury carmakers interprets military mobility without abandoning its unmistakable design identity.
A collaboration where imagination replaced engineering limitations

The Dreadnought was developed jointly by Aston Martin, Infinity Ward and Activision exclusively for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4. Unlike a conventional concept car that may eventually reach production, this project exists entirely within the game’s universe, allowing Aston Martin’s designers complete creative freedom. Without the restrictions imposed by road regulations or manufacturing feasibility, the design team reimagined what an Aston Martin could become inside one of gaming’s most demanding combat environments.

Aston Martin’s design language meets the battlefield

Although built for virtual warfare, the Dreadnought unmistakably carries Aston Martin’s design DNA. The muscular SUV silhouette combines dramatic proportions with carefully sculpted surfaces, while advanced aerodynamics remain central to its form. Luxury has not been sacrificed either. Details such as herringbone carbon fibre textures, Oxford Tan leather trim across the dashboard and door panels, and a metallic gold gear selector reflect Aston Martin’s craftsmanship. These are deliberately contrasted with military grade armour plating, reinforced bodywork, reserve fuel tanks and integrated weapons storage designed specifically for combat operations.
A V12 soundtrack remains at its heart

Even inside a digital battlefield, Aston Martin refused to abandon one of its defining characteristics. The Dreadnought features the unmistakable soundtrack of a naturally aspirated V12 engine, ensuring players experience the emotional character associated with the marque. Rather than becoming another anonymous military vehicle, it retains the drama and theatre expected from an Aston Martin.
Technology designed for tactical dominance
Every element of the Dreadnought has been imagined around battlefield capability. Adaptive combat intelligence systems, all wheel drive capability, integrated digital command interfaces and optimised aerodynamics work together to create a vehicle capable of navigating the harsh environments of Modern Warfare 4. The project demonstrates how gaming allows designers to explore technologies and concepts that remain impossible in the real world.
The name draws inspiration from British military history

The name Dreadnought carries significance beyond its dictionary meaning of “fear nothing.” It also pays tribute to HMS Dreadnought, the revolutionary Royal Navy battleship launched in 1906 whose advanced design transformed naval warfare and gave its name to an entirely new class of warships. The virtual SUV adopts that same philosophy by representing a vehicle designed to redefine capability within its own environment.
Players can drive it before anyone can own it
Unlike Aston Martin’s limited edition road cars, the Dreadnought will never appear in a dealership. Players can locate and drive the vehicle throughout key locations within both DMZ and Call of Duty Warzone game modes when Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 launches. Before entering the virtual battlefield, however, the full size physical model makes its public debut at Fanatics Fest in New York, giving fans their first opportunity to experience Aston Martin’s boldest digital creation in the real world.
A glimpse into the future of automotive collaborations

The Dreadnought is more than a marketing exercise between a luxury automaker and a blockbuster video game. It represents how digital worlds have become legitimate platforms for automotive design, allowing manufacturers to experiment with ideas unconstrained by engineering, legislation or commercial viability. In an era where younger audiences increasingly experience cars through screens before roads, Aston Martin has shown that the future of automotive storytelling may begin inside a game long before it reaches a showroom.
