Tamannaah Bhatia mesmerizes as the showstopper for Rahul Mishra’s ‘Becoming Love’ collection at Hyundai India Couture Week 2025, wearing two stunning couture pieces adorned with floral and cosmic artistry
There are stars, and then there is Tamannaah Bhatia — radiant in not one, but two spell-binding Rahul Mishra ensembles as she opened and closed the much-awaited inaugural show at Hyundai India Couture Week 2025. Held in New Delhi on July 23, this spectacle marked not just a showcase of craftsmanship but a transcendental celebration of nature and emotion. Titled Becoming Love, Rahul Mishra’s latest couture collection is a poetic extension of his signature aesthetic — one that marries delicate embroidery with philosophical storytelling.
Back from a showing at Paris Couture Week, Mishra’s Indian presentation continued his narrative arc, inspired by love as an ever-evolving force shaped by the natural and cosmic world. Tamannaah, who walked the runway as both opener and closer, quite literally embodied the two halves of this universe — the earthly and the celestial — in looks that were equally divine and dramatically different, yet bound by a common thread of femininity and detail.
In her opening look, Tamannaah wore a form-fitting blush pink gown that shimmered like a dew-kissed garden at dawn. With a structured sweetheart neckline and an asymmetric shoulder blooming into abstract embroidery, the corseted bodice gave way to a column silhouette drenched in vivid 3D floral appliqué. From violet pansies to ruby-red poppies and sunburst marigolds, the embroidery was rich in both palette and technique. It was a bouquet brought to life, one that moved like a breeze as she took confident strides down the runway. This gown was an ode to rooted love — full-bodied, blooming, and unmistakably present.
Closing the show, Tamannaah transformed into a celestial dream in a second look that spoke of the mythical and the meditative. A cosmos-inspired lehenga in soft ivory, it came alive with glistening sequin embroidery — depicting clouds, oceans, and mythical flora — grounded in pastel hues and lotus motifs. The halter-neck blouse with a plunging neckline sparkled with micro floral embroidery, echoing the constellations. If the first look symbolised love as it blossoms on earth, this was love in its purest, most ethereal form — vast, evolving, and cosmic.
Both looks were perfectly accented with jewellery from the Rivaah collection by Tanishq, which added to the storytelling. In the floral gown, Tamannaah wore floral-inspired chandelier earrings that caught the light as effortlessly as the sequins on her ensemble. For the lehenga look, she chose a more sculptural pair, with pearls and pastel enamel details that mirrored the sky-and-sea embroidery. The jewels didn’t just accessorise; they enhanced the couture’s emotional arc — from garden to galaxy.
With ‘Becoming Love’, Rahul Mishra pushed the boundaries of couture by infusing it with quiet intimacy and mythic imagination. Known for his handcrafted textiles and conscious luxury, his vision this season moved between the tactile and the transcendental, between roots and stars — and in Tamannaah Bhatia, he found the perfect muse to embody that spectrum.

As the lights dimmed and the crowd rose in applause, it was clear: couture, when it tells a story this poetic, can do more than just dazzle — it can move. And in two strikingly different looks, Tamannaah didn’t just model the garments; she became part of their fable.
