Only 120 bottles of TIME:SPACE Mastery are available in India, making it a truly rare and collectible expression for discerning whisky lovers.
Macallan celebrates its 200-anniversary this year, and to mark the occasion, topped its own world record of the oldest whisky every bottled, an accolade that they held from 2022 for the 1940 81 year old The Reach in 2022. This year they broke their own record with Time: Space, an 84-year old release. Released along with another limited edition release, the TIME: SPACE Mastery, the second whisky is part of the TIME:SPACE collection. As Madhu Rajigani, the brand ambassador of Macallan in India noted, “With inspiration from nature, Macallan’s creativity and also the legacy, we have introduced the Macallan TIME:SPACE collection. The Macallan’s TIME: SPACE collection invites us to embrace the richness of Macallan’s craftsmanship and legacy, honoring the masters who made this possible.”
To mark its 200th anniversary, The Macallan released the TIME:SPACE Mastery in India—an extraordinary interpretation of time travel through whisky craftsmanship, housed in exquisitely engineered vessels blending cutting-edge design with ancient craftsmanship.
This unique single malt is the culmination of 200 years of mastery, crafted from 14 exceptional cask types to create remarkable depth and complexity in aroma, texture, and flavor. Featuring whisky drawn from The Macallan’s rare and exceptional inventory—including European Oak sherry-seasoned casks, American Oak sherry-seasoned casks, American Oak Bourbon casks, and select refill casks—this is a one-of-a-kind release.
The packaging of the bottle is also unique. Done by Ahmedabad artist Aditi Anuj, the packaging represents 200 spikes done in origami, to mark each year of the distillery. The spikes and imagery around the release represent ‘how all precious things in nature are protected with thorns’.
Only 120 bottles of TIME:SPACE Mastery are released in India, making it a truly rare and collectible expression for discerning whisky lovers. It represents The Macallan’s dedication to heritage, craftsmanship, and sustainability.
The Macallan held a private themed dinner in Delhi for a select crowd as part of its celebrations. Elements from nature, including a handcrafted oak acorn and hedgehog were part of the tablescaping, representing the fragile elements that are protected by thorns in nature.
On the nose, it has lush aromas of medjool dates, baked figs and rich milk chocolate with subtle hints of honey, dried mango, and ripe papaya—all wrapped in complex sweet oak. On the palate it has a sweetness upfront with sherry-soaked dried fruits, orange marmalade, and honeycomb, evolving into soft notes of ginger and cinnamon. Lingering notes of caramelised pineapple, creamy vanilla, and delicate layers of dark chocolate and coffee make up the finish of this delightful drink.
