Aston Martin AMB 002 Roadster Brings Supercar Drama To Two Wheels

Aston Martin has always understood the importance of making an entrance. Its cars have spent decades doing it with long bonnets, dramatic grilles and the sort of proportions that make you stop whatever you are doing and stare. Now the British marque is taking that philosophy somewhere rather unexpected: onto two wheels. The new Aston Martin and Brough Superior AMB 002 Roadster is the first road legal motorcycle born from the partnership between the two historic performance brands, following the track only AMB 001 and AMB 001 Pro. And if those motorcycles were essentially exercises in showing what happens when engineers are given permission to be unreasonable, the AMB 002 is the rather exciting answer to what happens when that philosophy is allowed onto public roads.

A New Chapter For The AMB Partnership

The AMB 002 follows the AMB 001, introduced in 2019, and the AMB 001 Pro, which arrived in 2022. Unlike its predecessors, however, the new motorcycle has been designed specifically for road riding. The result is a compact, lightweight roadster that combines Aston Martin‘s design language with Brough Superior’s engineering expertise. Its fluid surfaces, forward biased stance and sculpted carbon fibre bodywork give it a visual character that sits somewhere between a superbike and a piece of automotive sculpture. There is very little here that looks conventional. The carbon fibre fuel tank and side fairings flow towards the rider, while crescent shaped gills help cool the engine and manage airflow. Even the mirror stalks have been designed with a wire like appearance to reinforce the motorcycle’s lightweight character.

Aston Martin Design, On Two Wheels

Look closely and the AMB 002 begins revealing its four wheeled influences. Aston Martin’s signature side strake has been reinterpreted through the fairing and runs towards the headlamp, while the twin oval exhausts feature ribbed heat sinks inspired by the exhaust finishers of the Vanquish, DB12 S and DBX S. The rear lighting is particularly dramatic, using a series of light blades influenced by the Aston Martin Vulcan, Valkyrie and Valhalla hypercars. There are also smaller touches that remind you this is an Aston Martin product. Keyless operation, a backlit ignition button and hand crafted saddle leather seat pads bring a degree of luxury to what is otherwise an intensely focused machine.

A 1083cc V Twin At Its Heart

Underneath all that carbon fibre sits an entirely new 1083cc four stroke, water cooled V Twin engine. It produces 130 bhp and 110 Nm of torque, with the engine tuned to deliver strong low and mid range response before building towards its top end. The engine is designed, machined and assembled in house at Brough Superior’s headquarters in Toulouse, France. Its cases are CNC machined from billet, demonstrating the aerospace inspired manufacturing approach that has become central to Brough Superior’s motorcycles.

A Titanium Backbone

The engineering gets even more exotic with the frame. The AMB 002 uses a titanium structure milled from a solid billet, forming the backbone of the motorcycle. It weighs just 5 kg and contributes to the machine’s 50:50 weight distribution. Carbon fibre body panels and the fuel tank help keep the centre of gravity low, while the entire motorcycle weighs just 190 kg. That combination gives the AMB 002 the sort of specification that should make every corner considerably more interesting.

The Fior Fork Changes The Formula

At the front sits Brough Superior’s distinctive double wishbone Fior fork. Developed further from the system used on the AMB 001 Pro, the setup separates steering and braking forces while maintaining precise control over the front end. Its anti dive characteristics are designed to provide stability under heavy braking, including when the motorcycle is leaned into a corner. The result is intended to deliver both agility and confidence at higher speeds.

Only 300 Will Be Built

As with its predecessors, exclusivity is central to the AMB 002’s appeal. Aston Martin and Brough Superior will produce only 300 individually built motorcycles, each created to the same exacting standards that define the partnership. First deliveries are scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2027. The AMB 002 Roadster, then, is more than Aston Martin putting its badge on a motorcycle. It is a genuine collaboration between two companies obsessed with craftsmanship, performance and design. And while 130 bhp may not sound outrageous by modern superbike standards, that rather misses the point. This is not simply a motorcycle designed to be fast. It is designed to make the act of riding feel special.
