The ‘Five Seasons’ collection by Poltrona Frau for 2025 is a brilliant exploration of the rhythms, feelings, and beauty of nature as seen through the prism of Italian luxury design. This collection, which defies conventional seasonal themes and introduces a distinctive ‘Fifth Season’ that honours uniqueness and harmony, was unveiled in their Milan flagship store and displayed at Salone del Mobile.

The 2025 collection by Poltrona Frau honours The Five Seasons, which focus on the essence of Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter, as well as a Fifth Season, which is a fusion of the senses, the natural world, and the universal laws of harmony, making the fifth season wholly unique. Here’s a look at what stands out in each of its categories:

Spring: Gio Ponti’s Dezza 60th Anniversary Limited Edition

Poltrona Frau presents a limited edition of just 60 pieces to mark the 60th anniversary of Gio Ponti’s famous Dezza armchair. Inspired by Ponti’s designs for the Hotel Parco dei Principi in Sorrento, this version boasts Pelle Frau Impact Less leather upholstery in sophisticated Panna and Iris tones. The most notable element is a previously unreleased drawing by Ponti himself, which depicts a pattern of 26 stylised hands, each with a unique name and identity, signifying the artistry and ‘intelligence of the hands’ that go into making the chair.

Summer: Blisscape Sofa by Ludovica Serafini and Roberto Palomba

The Blisscape sofa is a monument to comfort and adaptability, evoking the cosiness and warmth of a great summer day. Large seat cushions on a sophisticated leather platform are a highlight of this sofa, which was designed by Ludovica Serafini and Roberto Palomba. Its back cushions incorporate a hidden mechanism, allowing them to adjust naturally to the user’s posture, making it ideal for both relaxation and social gatherings.

Autumn: DressCove Night System

The DressCove Night System, Poltrona Frau’s first modular wardrobe system, reflects the transitory nature of autumn. It combines wood and other premium materials with Pelle Frau leather to create a luxurious yet utilitarian piece. Freestanding wardrobe designs are made possible by the creative support pole system, and customised storage needs are met by integrated lighting, drawers and dedicated sections.

Winter: Fornasetti x Poltrona Frau Capsule Collection

Renzo Frau’s famous 1919 armchair is brought back to life in this collaboration with Fornasetti, which embodies the reflective serenity of winter. Pelle Frau leather upholstery and Fornasetti’s ‘Ultime Notizie’ illustration adorn this edition. The armchair is accompanied by a repurposed Isidoro trunk that combines use and style to create a stunning drinks cabinet.

The Fifth Season: Fidelio Multimedia Cabinet for Leica Cine 1

The Fidelio Multimedia Cabinet, created by Roberto Lazzeroni, is specifically made for the Leica Cine 1 smart laser TV and represents the distinctive ‘Fifth Season’. In order to fit the projector and a 100-inch screen that gracefully unfolds from a back compartment, this customised version has a wider length of 280 cm. Crafted from rich mocha-stained wood or opulent leather, it flawlessly combines classic style with cutting-edge technology.

The 2025 ‘Five Seasons’ collection by Poltrona Frau is a tasteful fusion of creative design, emotional resonance, and aesthetics inspired by nature. Every piece inspires consumers to design their own haven that reflects their personal tastes and the classic elegance that comes along with Italian craftsmanship.
