‘Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs,’ says 1 Corinthians 13:4–8.
All of this is true. But allow me to drop another truth bomb. One we rarely acknowledge openly. Love can also be tedious. And exhausting at times.
There are the endless conversations about monthly expenses (this one applies particularly to married people), the passive-aggressive debates over who’s doing the dishes, which social obligation to endure or politely dodge, what your husband should wear to a cocktail party (no jeans, please), and the eternal thermostat war. Somehow, a woman with zero tolerance for summer almost always ends up married to someone who runs perpetually cool.

Which is why my husband and I have made it a non-negotiable to step away from all of it at least once a month or every other month, and retreat into a spa. For a few precious hours, we put life on pause and leave the world outside. Ladies, take it from me: if you want a happy marriage (or relationship), make this a ritual. No negotiations. For one hour, or three, if you’re lucky – you both lie still, say nothing, and surrender yourselves to someone whose only job is to unknot every last bit of stress from your body. In a marriage, uninterrupted silence like that is its own kind of luxury. The rest is just icing.
So this Valentine’s Day, instead of buying each other another expensive, well-intentioned gift (also lovely, by the way), consider booking a couple’s massage. Chances are you’ll come out lighter, calmer, and in such a good mood that you’ll want to splurge on each other anyway. Perhaps over a candlelit dinner straight after. Win-win. These are all spas my husband and I have personally tried over the past few months in Delhi NCR – a good place to start with tried-and-tested favourites.
Most Romantic Couples Massages At Luxury 5-Star Spas In Delhi NCR
The Imperial Spa At The Imperial, New Delhi
This is, without question, one of my favourites. My husband and I have gotten couples massages done all over the world but this is one of the more memorable (mutually agreed) ones we’ve gotten. Spread across 44,000 square feet, this award-winning spa feels like a sanctuary tucked inside another sanctuary.

It sits away from the main hotel, nestled within landscaped gardens, and feels more like a retreat somewhere far away. The treatments are as considered as the space itself. There’s sound healing inspired by Himalayan traditions, traditional Ayurvedic therapies, Shirodhara, and even candle massages from South Africa. Nothing feels tacked on. The design amplifies that sense of thoughtfulness. Moroccan architecture blends seamlessly with Mughal and Indian influences, and tikri work embellishes the walls with exquisite craftsmanship. Walking through the arches, you slow down almost without noticing.

The wellness journey unfolds across ten individual treatment rooms, each distinct and richly detailed. There are hammam-style hydrotherapy spaces with Turkish influences, the Moghul Suite, and the Kerala Suite which functions as a traditional Ayurvedic centre rooted in one of the oldest sciences of well-being. The therapies themselves are built around potent, natural ingredients like moringa, Indian gooseberry, and country mallow, chosen to nourish the skin while healing from within. Treatments can also be combined with a consultation from the resident Ayurvedic doctor, which, I thought, added a very nice touch to the whole experience.

Couples Massage At The Moghul Suite
For our visit, we chose a couples massage at the Moghul Suite. After sipping chamomile tea in beautifully designed bathrobes (and taking a few selfies because, why not?), we sat down to choose our oils. There are nine aromas to choose from, including nargis, oudh, mandarin, and black pepper. Each is designed to ease tension, improve circulation, and gently prepare the body for rest. We both chose nargis.

The suite itself is stunning. Having a steam, sauna, shower and jacuzzi all within a private space meant we never had to step into a shared area. We opted for the Imperial Iconic massage, a sixty-minute treatment that arrived at exactly the right moment after a long workday. The therapists moved with an intuitive rhythm, gentle one moment and firmer the next, easing both body and mind. The massage incorporated a warm, moisturising candle treatment alongside smooth, rhythmic movements rooted in palming and effleurage. As my husband chatted away with the massage therapist, I drifted off to Lalaland and had one of the best naps I’ve had in… well, probably forever.

Sixty minutes of heaven later, we refused to move. Jacuzzi bubbles, herbal teas, dry fruits – little luxuries we didn’t rush through. Steam, sauna, and a hot shower finished the ritual.
We walked out feeling at least five years younger. No kidding!

Couples Massage At Cinqtuair
We took slightly different paths here. I chose a Balinese Traditional Massage, while my partner went for a Swedish Massage with a touch of lymphatic drainage. Our session began with 15 minutes of Normatec Compression Therapy. The rhythmic inflation and deflation of the system helps circulation, eases muscle soreness, and primes your body for the massage to come. It’s an oddly meditative way to start the day.

The Balinese massage was exactly what I needed. The therapist’s hands were soft, precise, and applied just the right pressure. Long strokes, gentle stretches, and subtle acupressure worked through my tired muscles, waking up circulation and leaving me feeling calmer. After a long, stressful day hosting a family function, it was a welcome escape. My partner was equally happy with the Swedish massage. Smooth, rhythmic strokes eased tension, improved circulation, and left the body completely relaxed. When our treatments ended, we took a few minutes to enjoy herbal tea and some dry fruits, letting the calm linger before stepping back into the world.

Olympus Spa & Salon At The Hyatt Regency Delhi
Tucked inside the Hyatt Regency Delhi, Olympus Spa and Salon is a luxurious space made for proper “time-out for two.” The heart of the experience is the couple’s suite, where side-by-side massages allow you to unwind together. Expert therapists work with premium organic oils infused with seasonal floral scents like rose and jasmine, easing stress with every stroke.

There’s a full range of treatments to choose from – massages, facials, deep-tissue therapy, each delivered with care and precision by trained therapists who know exactly how to restore body and mind. I loved the couple’s suite. Candlelight flickered softly, the music hit the perfect note, and the atmosphere was almost too romantic, even with four people in the room.

My husband and I sank into our aromatherapy massage, and for a while, the rest of the world simply disappeared. Here, too, we shared a moment of calm that we both badly needed.

Here, we began our three-hour escape with the couples massage, choosing the Sleep Deeply treatment. The room was intimate, just enough for two, yet spacious enough that it never felt crowded. The therapists worked in perfect rhythm, and I watched as my husband’s features softened, his calm deepening with every stroke. I half-expected him to drift off – and he did, fully surrendered, while I let myself float somewhere between bliss and deep reflection.
The scrubbing ritual came next. Warm exfoliating scrubs scented with sandalwood and saffron gently buffed away fatigue, leaving my skin tingling and luminous. I loved how tactile it felt – the grains softly buffing away fatigue, leaving my skin tingling and radiant. My husband and I exchanged soft laughs over the smallest absurdities, and it somehow felt like the laughter was part of the therapy itself. That hour made everything outside feel impossibly distant.

We ended with a face and head massage. Aromatic oils warmed my skin, gentle pressure coaxed away the last remnants of stress, and for a moment, I heard nothing but my own breathing. My husband was beside me, equally absorbed. The city waited for us outside, of course, but for those few hours, we had managed to step entirely out of it, and returned happier for it.
