Indian chefs make the country proud as they helm the best restaurants in Asia and Middle East! Chefs Gaggan Anand of Gaggan Bangkok and Himanshu Saini of Trèsind Studio Dubai have made it to The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2024 list, demonstrating their culinary prowess by securing places for their restaurants on the prestigious list. Both chefs exemplify the dynamic evolution of Indian gastronomy on the world stage, showcasing its versatility and depth through their exceptional culinary artistry.

Best Restaurants 2024 list

Gaggan is Number 9 in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, catapulting the restaurant as Best Restaurant in Asia 2024. Chef Anand, known for his innovative approach to Indian cuisine, continues to captivate the global gastronomic community with his eponymous restaurant, Gaggan, in Bangkok, Thailand. His creative dishes, which often fuse molecular gastronomy with traditional Indian flavours, offer an unparalleled dining experience.

World Best Restaurants 2024 list

Meanwhile, Trèsind Studio ranks Number 13 making it the Best Restaurant in Middle East 2024. Chef Himanshu Saini is known for his modern interpretation of Indian cuisine that artfully blends contemporary techniques with age-old recipes. Chef Saini commented, “This recognition is a testament to our team’s dedication and passion for elevating Indian cuisine. We are honoured to bring this accolade to Dubai and proud to represent Indian culinary arts on the global stage.” Passion F&B, the parent company of Trèsind Studio, founded by Bhupender Nath is celebrating its 10th anniversary. Nath remarked, “We are thrilled and humbled by Trèsind Studio’s recognition. Our mission has always been to push the boundaries of culinary excellence and to bring the richness of Indian cuisine to the global forefront. This accolade is a significant milestone in our journey.”

The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2024 awards ceremony took place in the neon-lit city of Las Vegas in the United States. Barcelona’s Disfrutar was named The World’s Best Restaurant and The Best Restaurant in Europe. This year’s ranking includes restaurants from 26 territories in five continents worldwide and introduces three restaurants making their debut on the list.

Neil Perry, original founder of Rockpool Group in Australia and current chef-owner of Margaret in Sydney, received the Woodford Reserve Icon Award. Paris-based Nina Métayer wins The World’s Best Pastry Chef Award 2024. The Beronia World’s Best Sommelier Award 2024 is presented to Pablo Rivero of Don Julio, Buenos Aires. Restaurant Wing in Hong Kong earns the Highest New Entry Award while the Highest Climber Award went to The Chairman, also in Hong Kong. Nobelhart & Schmutzig in Berlin is announced as the winner of the Sustainable Restaurant Award. Mitsuharu ‘Micha’ Tsumura from Maido in Lima receives the Estrella Damm Chefs’ Choice Award 2024.
