Bi-Material Symphony: Introducing The New Longines Mini DolceVita Models

Longines has expanded its Mini DolceVita collection with the introduction of four new striking bi-material watches that combine stainless steel with the beauty of yellow or rose gold

Synonymous with the tagline, ‘Elegance is an attitude’, Swiss watchmaker Longines has been crafting some of the most timeless watches with a classical appeal since 1832. Steeped in tradition, these timepieces are imbued with the brand’s signature DNA of ‘elegance meets precision’ and are easily distinguished by their winged hourglass logo. Amongst their bestselling collections is the DolceVita family of watches, inspired by a legendary rectangular model created by the brand in 1927. And the Mini DolceVita is an extension of this line, which stands true to its name (meaning the ‘sweet or good life’ in Italian). First launched in 2023, this collection draws inspiration from the Art Deco era, where tank-shaped watches were quite popular—defined by clean lines, symmetry and structure—showcasing the brand’s expertise in crafting fine-jewelled watches since the 19th century.

Building up on this legacy, Longines has now added four new refined timepieces to this range, with the introduction of new bi-material watches that bring together stainless steel with yellow or rose gold. The new campaign also features Longines brand ambassadors actor Suzy and supermodel Barbara Palvin, sporting the resplendent watches, replete with discreet proportions. Available with or without diamonds, they are a testament to the brand’s rich heritage of manufacturing watches that can truly stand the test of time.

Each model features a perfectly proportioned rectangular stainless steel case measuring 21.50mm x 29.00mm, complemented by a crown in either 18-karat yellow gold or rose gold.

Each gold tone watch is available in two case versions: one adorned with 38 Top Wesselton diamonds totalling 0.456 carats, which pave the case’s refined silhouette and proportions, and the other understated version without diamonds. The bracelets also follow the dual-material aesthetic, combining stainless steel with yellow gold or rose gold elements in a meticulously assembled alternating pattern, ensuring a supple and comfortable fit, secured on to the wrist with triple-folding safety clasp with a push-piece opening mechanism. On turning the watch over, one can see the solid engraved caseback, which offers a water resistance of up to 30m.

The dials are silver and rectangular, displaying 12 Roman numerals, enhanced by delicate flinqué decoration. The geometric patterns are engraved in relief, creating a subtle guilloche effect that catches the light. Blue-painted Roman numerals and blued-steel hands provide an elegant contrast, while the small seconds display, housed in a square sub-dial at six o’clock, adds a distinctive touch to the design.

The new Mini DolceVita models are driven by a high-precision, L178-calibre quartz movement—another area that Longines specialises in. Showcasing a marriage of materials, in this case stainless steel unified with yellow or rose gold, these new watches are an ode to Longines’ quintessential philosophy of being driven by elegance, which definitely is an attitude.
