Rahul Mishra’s Counterfeit Case

India’s acclaimed designer Rahul Mishra had earlier filed a case against counterfeiters from Surat, Chandigarh and Bengaluru after fakes from his ‘Sundarbans’ Collection, such as the Tigress artistic work, and floral motives were spotted on copied designs worn by Indian celebrities like Kapil Sharma, Badshah, and Orry on social media and popular Netflix shows. In a significant legal development, the Delhi High Court rules in favour of the designer in the design theft case. It passed an add-interim injunction against multiple parties for unauthorised copying and replicating his iconic patterns. The court has also prohibited the manufacture and sale of imitations or any deceptively similar representation of Mishra‘s original design, taking a stand against fashion piracy.
