Shah Rukh Khan Unveils Shahrukhz Danube

Shah Rukh Khan’s love for extravagant life is not a secret. Because he grew up with very little in Delhi’s middle class family, luxury is a gift to his younger self. However, King Khan’s idea of luxury living is not frivolous, or just about material wealth, it’s attached with emotion. From building his sea facing Mumbai home Mannat, a name that translates to “wish” to gifting son Ayyan Khan, a Rolex Cosmograph Dayton‘s watch costing around eight lakh, designing a grand treehouse for AbRam and gifting his daughter, Suhana Khan, a classic black Chanel quilted handbag costing almost nine lakhs — reports, often surface of how he loves to pamper his loved ones with love, luxury and care.

Hitting the headlines yet again, Shah Rukh Khan unveiled the first ever luxury property named after him during an event in Mumbai on Friday. The Dubai-based property named Shahrukhz Danube is a towering 56-story premium office space spanning 450 sq.ft. He added on an emotional note while speaking at the event, “My mother would have been very happy. It is a very big honour. When my kids come, I will tell them – ‘Papa ka naam likha hai, Papa ki building hai (papa’s name is written on it, it’s papa building),” he said at the ceremony, which was also attended by Danube’s founder and chairman, Rizwan Sajan.

Some of the amenities at Shahrukh Danube include a swimming pool and helipad. The project will be completed within the next 3 to 4 years with an entrance, featuring a statue of the actor for visitors to click picture perfect frames with. Danube Group also plans to expand this building concept to other cities. Previously Danube Properties was in news for Breeze by Danube — Dubai’s maritime city‘s tallest tower, offering panoramic sea views and luxury living.

While speaking about his association with Danube Group, Khan mentioned, “I never found myself to be in this position. But Rizwan Bhai told me about his wife, who has been quite unwell, and Insha Allah (by God’s mercy) she will soon be fine. It touched my heart. First time, I agreed to this idea with what Adil explained. Their team had a simple idea: A lot of people come to big cities to make their homes. Their dreams are to make businesses and houses. If I could be a part of it and an inspiration, it would be the greatest gift for me.”

During the event, Khan also regaled the guests with his wit and humour while shaking his leg over Bollywood music and recreating iconic moments from his popular films like Om Shanti Om and Don. “I don’t find myself that important that I put anything in my name except my films. Films are part of my profession and worship,” said Shah Rukh. To this Farah Khan, who was also a guest, said at the event, “Shah Rukh has given his name to four people: Gauri, Aryan, Suhana and AbRam.” Further entertaining the audience with his wit, Khan said on his attendance in public events, “Eid ka chand (Moon from the pious festival in Islam)… kam dikhta hu but jab dikhta hoon, kamaal hota hai (I am seen rarely, but when I am seen, it is spectacular).”
