It’s that time of year again when the world’s style capitals, New York, London, Milan, and Paris dominate global headlines with their runway shows. At present, all eyes are on Milan Fashion Week SS26 which is bringing 54 physical shows, four digital ones along with a whopping 85 presentations featuring iconic fashion houses like Prada, Fendi, Moschino, Emporio Armani, Missoni, Etro, Roberto Cavalli, and Tod’s among others.
However beyond the iconic runway shows, Milan’s streets are seeing a dazzling mix of Indian and international stars serving the best of fashion looks on and off the runway. Bollywood’s own Alia Bhatt delivered one of her most striking international looks in a statement Gucci fur coat, while ‘Homebound’ actor Ishaan Khatter cut a sharp figure in a tailored BOSS suit, sharing the front row with football legend David Beckham. Rashmika Mandanna brought youthful energy to high-street fashion in a short dress from Onitsuka Tiger. From sleek tailoring to athletic ease and dramatic flair, India’s leading stars made their presence impossible to ignore asserting that Indian style has found its stride in Milan.
Alia Bhatt, Gucci’s first Indian Global Brand Ambassador (appointed in 2023), delivered one of her best looks on the international stage at the house’s special showcase of the film ‘The Tiger’. Embracing the drama of Gucci’s ‘La Famiglia’ edit, she stepped out in an all-black ensemble, anchored by a voluminous fur coat layered over a satin lace slip dress with a plunging neckline. A chain belt cinched her waist, while monogrammed stockings and sleek pointed heels amplified the statement. With smoky eyes, nude lips, and sculpted contours framing her look, Bhatt radiated the unmistakable aura of a global star.
Fresh from the acclaim of ‘Homebound’, India’s official Oscar entry, Ishaan Khatter brought tailored precision to Milan. At the ‘BOSS SS25’ showcase, he was spotted in a structured grey pinstripe suit paired with a crisp white shirt and patterned tie. Sharing the front row with HUGO BOSS CEO Daniel Grieder and football legend David Beckham, Khatter’s presence made headlines. Adding to the frenzy, his backstage interaction with K-pop star S. COUPS sparked a wave of excitement online with fans calling it a cultural crossover moment.
Marking her second appearance at the Milan Fashion Week, Rashmika Mandanna championed sporty chic sensibility as the Indian Brand Ambassador for Onitsuka Tiger. She wore a navy-blue dress layered with a cropped jacket from the label. She was present for Onitsuka Tiger’s SS26 ‘Yellow’ collection unveiled at the Milan showcase featuring playful crinkled skirts, vintage-inspired dresses, and statement blazers.
Digital star Farhana Bodi, known for ‘Dubai Bling’, dazzled at the Missoni show in a glittering multi-coloured sequin pantsuit. The ensemble, patterned with Missoni’s signature geometric motifs in jewel and pastel tones, was complemented by oversized sunglasses, a sleek ponytail, and a bold mauve clutch paired with matching pumps. The look was both polished and unapologetically bold, in true Missoni style.
Mouni Roy, a familiar face on Indian television, brought playful drama to Milan Fashion Week in an ensemble by Dhruv Kapoor. She wore an oversized red-and-white chequered shirt styled with an asymmetrical wrap mini skirt, striking the balance between ease and fashion-forward edge. Further, knee-high leather boots, soft blush makeup, and tousled wavy hair tied her street-style look together.
