The Attico Turns 10: From It-Girl Favourite to Milan Fashion Mainstay

The Attico marks its tenth anniversary in Milan, a decade after Gilda Ambrosio and Giorgia Tordini launched the label with their distinctive take on glamour. Its bold aesthetic and Italian sensibility have since made it a notable name in contemporary luxury fashion

A decade after Gilda Ambrosio and Giorgia Tordini launched The Attico in Milan, the label has grown from a street-style favourite into an established name on the city’s fashion calendar. Founded in 2016, the brand quickly drew attention with robe-style dresses, fluid silhouettes and a glamorous approach to dressing that felt both decadent and youthful.

Ambrosio and Tordini were already familiar faces on the international street-style circuit, giving the new label an immediate fashion following. The Attico soon developed a distinct identity through sequins, feathers, vivid colours and body-conscious silhouettes, while its collections expanded across ready-to-wear, footwear and accessories.

Its name, which means ‘penthouse’ in Italian language, captured the sense of glamour and excess at the heart of the label.

The Attico 10th anniversary arrives as Milan Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2027 gets underway from September 22 to 28. The brand is scheduled to present its latest collection on September 25, placing The Attico among the established names on this season’s Milan calendar.

The Party Girl Grows Up

The Attico fashion brand history is closely tied to its distinctive take on evening dressing but the label has never been confined to it. In 2021, the ‘Life At Large’ capsule introduced a genderless wardrobe with more relaxed pieces, offering another side to the brand’s aesthetic.

The Attico staged its first official runway show during Milan Fashion Week in September 2023. For Spring/Summer 2024, oversized tailoring and cargo trousers appeared alongside sequins, feathers and vibrant colours, bringing several of the label’s signatures together on the runway.

The show also cemented The Attico Milan fashion presence beyond the street-style buzz that surrounded its early years. By then, the label had established an international presence while retaining its distinctly Italian character.

A Decade In Milan

For Fall/Winter 2026, the Italian design duo Ambrosio and Tordini revisited some of the codes associated with the house’s first decade. Lace, embroidery, lingerie-inspired details, fluid tailoring and reworked denim appeared across the collection, bringing a distinctly Italian sensibility to the anniversary year.

The 10 years of The Attico have been shaped by a clear visual language rather than a single signature piece. Glamour, sensuality and statement dressing remain central to the label, while tailoring, denim and accessories have become equally familiar parts of its offering.

As The Attico anniversary unfolds in Milan, the label enters its second decade with the same confident spirit that first made it an It-Girl favourite, now firmly established within contemporary luxury fashion.
