Why Are The Prices Hiking?

With premium properties charging anywhere between 50% to over 200% higher than early March levels, the spike underscores how large-scale global events attract a massive crowd to Delhi NCR hotels. General Manager of Shangri-La Eros New Delhi, Abhishek Sadhoo, tells Outlook Luxe that their hotel is honoured to welcome the “distinguished delegates” of the India AI Impact Summit 2026. “It is a privilege to play a role in hosting this landmark gathering in New Delhi. With world-class event spaces, exceptional culinary experiences and the signature warmth of Shangri-La service, we look forward to supporting conversations that will help shape the future of technology and its impact on society.”

Shridhar Nair, Senior Vice President and General Manager, The Leela Ambience Gurugram, shares that February and March are usually strong months for the hotel, and the AI Summit has further amplified this momentum. “This high-profile gathering has significantly boosted demand, with bookings currently pacing over 25% ahead of last year, reinforcing the hotel’s position as a preferred choice for global travellers. Base room categories see movement due to inventory compression and increased demand, averaging around INR 40,000, compared to approximately INR 30,000 during the same period last year which is reflective of the strong market demand generated by these events, while our luxury forest view rooms, suites, and residences are priced distinctly.” He adds that in addition to the major events, the spike in bookings and room rates can also be attributed to the financial year-end, which typically drives increased corporate travel, along with a noticeable surge in travel demand as business movement picks up significantly after the Christmas & New Year holiday season.
