Porsche’s latest special editions elevate the Taycan and Cayenne with bold aesthetics and premium touches.
Over the past decade, more and more carmakers from Aston Martin and Mercedes-Benz to BMW, Jaguar, and now Porsche have embraced the allure of the “Black Edition.” The formula is simple yet irresistible: take a performance icon, cloak it in a deep, monochromatic palette, add exclusive styling flourishes, and elevate the cabin with premium materials. With the new Taycan and Cayenne Black Editions, Porsche joins this darkly stylish tradition, draping its flagship electric sedan and luxury SUV in a richer, more enigmatic persona. These editions go beyond cosmetic tweaks; they sharpen each model’s personality, with bespoke trims, subtle badging, and enhanced features that pair perfectly with the brand’s hallmark performance. In an industry increasingly obsessed with bold colourways and loud graphics, Porsche proves that sometimes, the most powerful statement is made in black.
The Taycan Black Edition is available as a sports sedan and Sport Turismo. The side window mouldings and model designation at the rear are done in high-gloss black. High-gloss black exterior mirrors, combined with various exterior paint treatments, are only available on the Black Edition. The rear light strip with illuminated black Porsche logo is also included as standard. The black interior accent package, storage package, and black-brushed lighted aluminium door sill guards are all included.
The Taycan Black Edition versions come equipped with the bigger Performance Battery Plus, which is offered as an option for the Taycan, Taycan 4, and Taycan 4S. The greater gross energy capacity of 105 kWh benefits both the driving performance and the WLTP range. In the base Black Edition sports sedan, for example, which produces up to 435 PS, the range is increased to up to 668 kilometres or 76 km, or 12 per cent, greater than that of the standard model. For the Taycan, all colours in the Contrasts and Shades category are available at no extra charge, including colours such as Jet Black Metallic, Volcano Grey Metallic, Dolomite Silver Metallic and Ice Grey Metallic.
The Cayenne models feature the Sport Design front apon, the exterior package, the exterior mirrors and the Porsche logo, as well as the model designation at the rear, all finished in high-gloss black. The interior is enhanced by an interior package in brushed-black aluminium. For the Cayenne customers can choose at no extra charge from the Contrasts category: White or Chromite Black Metallic. The complete Sport Design package is standard on Cayenne S E-Hybrid Black Edition models. The following elements are upholstered in black smooth leather: front and rear seat centre panels; front and rear seat bolsters; front and rear headrests; upper, forward and lower sections of the dashboard; lid of the storage compartment and side trim of the centre console; steering wheel rim and airbag module; armrests on the front and rear doors; door sills at the front and rear; door panels in the front and rear; decorative surfaces in the front and rear doors (not available in conjunction with interior packages).
Porsche has also added the following to the list of standard equipment for both model series: Lane Change Assist, Surround View including Active Parking Assist, 21-inch wheels with centre caps featuring the full-colour Porsche crest, HD Matrix LED headlights (which are tinted on the Cayenne Black Edition), LED door projectors that show the Porsche logo, Comfort Seats in the front (with 14way electric adjustment and memory function) with the Porsche crest on the headrests, a BOSE® Surround Sound System including Dolby Atmos (with Electric Sport Sound in the Taycan), the Storage package, and black smooth leather trim. The Taycan also features an exclusive badge in the centre console bearing the ‘Black Edition’ designation.
