When it comes to the luxury interiors space, well, the sky’s the limit. It is not a rarity to find celebrities backing such ventures and one such notable one is The Charcoal Project. A brainchild of Sussanne Khan, it is one of India’s leading luxury décor brands, and it recently opened its second retail gallery in Hyderabad. Spread over an impressive 35,000 sq ft, the latest store boasts six massive storeys—where one is spoilt for choice when it comes to selecting the finest for your home. The Charcoal Project’s first chapter started in Mumbai, and this expansion marks a significant milestone for the brand, which is replete with Khan’s signature aesthetic that combines innovation with classic designs, to give a versatile touch that spells ‘quiet luxury’.

“After 14 incredible years of crafting story-rich interiors, I found my true calling two years ago—to create something exceptional. With an amazing team of gladiators, I am thrilled to unveil The Charcoal Project, Hyderabad. This space is a celebration of design at its finest—featuring unique works, limited-edition furniture, objects of curiosity, and a curated collection of fine art by talented artists. We can’t wait to welcome you into this world of creativity,” says Khan in an official press statement.

And it doesn’t end here… The Hyderabad launch is also special since it is also showcases a collaboration between Sussanne and Gauri Khan, renowned celebrity interior designer. Known for her fusion of contemporary elegance and traditional Indian elements, Gauri Khan’s distinctive design philosophy complements Sussanne’s architecturally inspired and story-driven concepts. The Hyderabad store has a dedicated floor where one can find products from Gauri’s label. “Bringing Gauri Khan Designs to Hyderabad through this collaboration is an exciting milestone. The label has always stood for refined luxury, timeless aesthetics, and bespoke craftsmanship. I’m delighted to showcase our signature collection of art, artefacts, home linen, decor and furniture in a space that champions creativity and innovation”, says Gauri, who has done up spaces for several Bollywood figures such as Karn Johar, Alia Bhatt, and Katrina Kaif to name a few.

There are also exceptional design collaborations such as the exclusive Sussanne Khan x Janavi collection, which blends nature’s wonders with refined textiles, intricate craftsmanship, and regal aesthetics; or the collaboration with de Gournay, known for its exquisite hand-painted wall coverings inspired by Art Deco or Art Nouveau designs, depicted by exquisite narratives. With this, The Charcoal Project is not just a store; it’s a space that offers unparalleled artistic sophistication and an immersive experience that’s sure to redefine the country’s luxe design ethos.
