Louis Vuitton and Takashi Murakami Unveil Iconic Collaboration with Zendaya

The 20th anniversary of Louis Vuitton and artist Takashi Murakami’s era-defining collaboration culminates with a third and final chapter of the re-edition collection accompanied by a campaign starring Zendaya

May 20, 2025

Louis Vuitton and Japanese modern artist Takashi Murakami have revealed the last chapter of their illustrious collaboration to commemorate 20 years of one of fashion’s most iconic partnerships. Designed to complement the Louis Vuitton 2025 Women’s Resort line, the Louis Vuitton x Murakami Chapter Three collection is a vivid tribute to creativity, colour, and collector culture that will launch globally on May 22, 2025.

With Chapter Three, Murakami’s instantly recognisable smiling Cherry symbol returns, bringing fun energy and workmanship to over 70 pieces. From classic purses like the Side Trunk, Alma, and Speedy to silk squares, raffia mules, and even an LV bicycle, the collection perfectly embodies carefree summertime joy.

Highlights of the extensive collection include the introduction, alongside iconic Monogram brown canvas, of a fresh new Monogram colourway: its crisp white base acting as a ‘blank canvas’ upon which a new 3D-printing effect renders the super juicy Cherry icon even glossier, more colourful and alluring for the summer season – as presented on Louis Vuitton icons including The Speedy, The Alma and The Side Trunk. Furthermore, the full Capucines bag range boasts intricate and whimsical Cherry detailing, from metallic hanging cherries on a decorative chain to additional hidden and secret Cherry icons on the bag’s zip pulls and fasteners.

The collection also signals the ultra-collector Cherry-embroidered blue denim capsule, featuring exclusive pieces including the Pochette Accessoires, the Sunset, and the Keepall 45 as well as summer gifts such as a hand fan and an eye-catching deck chair.

Additionally, silk squares adorned with delicate cherry motifs offer lightness and versatile wear as a daily and elegant summer accessory, while bag charms bring playfulness and trendiness to accessorize bags, serving a multitude of functions.

To showcase Louis Vuitton × Murakami Chapter Three, the accompanying visual campaign once again stars Louis Vuitton House Ambassador Zendaya – this time presented within cinematic summer scenes from the Mediterranean Riviera. In the five exuberant and audacious new images, created by renowned Dutch photographers Inez and Vinoodh, Zendaya wears key pieces from the new collection, surrounded by cheerful giant-size renderings of Takashi Murakami’s Cherry motif.
