The greatest there was, and the greatest there shall ever be, Giorgio Armani will always be remembered for defining, and perfecting the craft of timeless elegance in fashion by creating subtle yet eternal creations rather than just following what was the trend back in the day. With prime focus on silent luxury (logo free, minimal design), understated sophistication especially his suits for both men and women accentuated that very philosophy. Armani also had a taste for the finer things in his life and that blended perfectly with the persona he had.
Watches
He was often spotted wearing a F.P. Journe Chronomètre Bleu that has a 30mm case, a chrome blue dial, ivory coloured stainless steel Arabic hour markers, hour, minute hand, and a second sub-dial at 7:30. Powering the watch is a manual winding calibre 1304 with a 56 hour power reserve.
Another watch that has been spotted on the wrist of the legendary designer was the Patek Philippe World Timer 5110R in rose gold. This 37mm timepiece had a white and black centre dial to denote day and night time in the respective timezones with sun and moon indicators, rose gold was incorporated on the polished bezel, the crown, lugs, the hour markers, and the hour, minute hands. Powering the watch was Calibre 240 with a minimum 48 hour power reserve.
Cars
Armani had some of the lesser known yet most stylish cars in his fleet. The Fiat 500e was a full electric car with six premium JBL speakers. The limited edition car had GA logos on the seats, dashboard, wheels, and was available in dark green and ceramic beige.
Then came the Bentley Turbo R, a Long Wheel Base (LWB) model with a steel monocoque chassis. The saloon had a 6.7 litre V8 engine that delivered that delivered almost 300bhp with a three speed automatic transmission. Other cars in the late designer collections were the Alfa Romeo 166, Jaguar S Type, and the Bentley Continental Flying Spur.
Basketball Team
Having won a total of 58 trophies, Giorgio Armani became the sole-owner of Olimpia Milano in 2008, and has till date become one of the most successful clubs not only in Italy but also in Europe.
Yacht
His current yacht is the 65m long Main with custom interiors in collaboration with Ortelli Architetti, an Italy based interior design firm. The super yacht can accommodate 12 guests in 7 suites with 14 crew onboard.
