Celebrated couturier and one of India’s original fashion innovators, Suneet Varma has opened his second store in Delhi. Nearly eighteen years after establishing a 2,500-square-foot flagship at DLF Emporio, he has chosen Mehrauli, now one of the city’s most vibrant cultural districts, as the location for his next chapter. Just a few metres from the Qutub Minar, the new space sits at the intersection of heritage architecture and modern luxury.

“I chose Mehrauli because it has grown into such a vibrant and sought-after destination for couture lovers. It’s exciting to be part of a place that is not just a local hub but a destination attracting clients from all over India and the world,” says Suneet Varma.

Mehrauli has come a long way from its beginnings as forest and farmland. Today, its leafy roads are lined with historic structures, contemporary design studios, and some of the city’s most prominent names in fashion and dining. It’s this blend of old and new that makes the neighbourhood an apt backdrop for Varma’s aesthetic sensibilities. “After nearly two decades at DLF Emporio, having a new home in Mehrauli felt like the perfect way to deepen our connection to the bride-centric luxury market, while also embracing a space that reflects the rich heritage and evolving contemporary tastes of our clientele.”

The new boutique spans 1,100 square feet and encapsulates Varma’s long-standing design language – a balance of contemporary glamour and classical influences. Art Deco references run through the interiors, complemented by touches of Renaissance, Rococo, Baroque, and early 20th-century architecture. Visitors enter through a custom metal and bevelled-glass door, framed by sculptural windows and Deco-inspired motifs. The entrance, refined over multiple design iterations, immediately signals the craftsmanship that defines the space.

Inside, the design philosophy remains aligned with Varma’s creative identity: globally influenced, culturally grounded, and distinctly modern. His collections, known for their intricate handwork and layered inspirations sit naturally within this environment that honours both tradition and innovation.

Among the finer details that define the store, one remains the designer’s personal favourite – the curved bevelled mirror installation. “I’m especially proud of the curved beveled mirror installation, it’s technically tricky and definitely one of the priciest elements in the store! It really amplifies the light and adds a sculptural elegance that feels almost theatrical. Alongside the custom metal and beveled-glass door, this detail is where craftsmanship meets art, making it a truly luxe and unforgettable focal point. These pieces helped set the tone for the entire experience, where every corner whispers couture.”

The vision behind the store was clear to the designer from the beginning. “The most important thing was to create an environment that feels luxurious but never overwhelming, a sanctuary for creativity and elegance. Every detail was non-negotiable because the store itself is a reflection of who we are as a brand—a place where heritage craftsmanship and innovation coexist beautifully.”

The new Suneet Varma boutique is located at Kutub Boulevard, ground floor, Mehrauli, New Delhi.
