Wendell Rodricks
A foundational figure in Indian fashion history who passed away in 2020. Late Rodricks redefined resort wear and minimal luxury in India, with a strong global sensibility and deep archival recognition in the country’s fashion narrative.
Kallol Datta
One of India’s most important avant-garde designers. Kallol Datta’s work sits at the intersection of conceptual fashion, gender fluidity, and anti-mainstream luxury aesthetics, often challenging traditional couture systems.
Saisha Shinde
Formerly Swapnil Shinde, Saisha Shinde is one of the most visible queer designers in contemporary Indian fashion. Known for high-glam couture and pageant looks, including Miss Universe India gowns, she occupies a mainstream luxury-adjacent space.
Rohit Khosla
Often credited as part of the first wave of modern Indian fashion designers, Khosla played a foundational role in shaping the industry’s early luxury design language in the 1980s and 1990s. Khosla studied in England, worked with designers in New York, however, returned to India to start his own label in 1987, along with his sister, designer Rohini Khosla. He passed away in February 1994.
