This year, the ceremony will hand out 28 awards across television and films, and will also have a new category, recognising the best in podcasts. In a first, the Golden Globes also presented a prime time special title, Golden Eve, which aired ahead of the main event, honouring Sarah Jessica Parker and Dame Helen Mirren with the Carol Burnett Award and Cecil B. De Mille Award, respectively. This year’s gold globe ceremony will be hosted by Nikki Glaser, who returns to the stage for the second consecutive year after earning praise last year when critics appreciated her for keeping the room light, humorous, playful yet bold.
