At Swadesh Eros in Mumbai, Indian craftsmanship shared the spotlight with some of Bollywood’s most recognisable faces on October 10, 2026. Hosted by Nita Ambani, the store’s reported first-anniversary celebration took its cue from Devi Shakti, bringing together festive traditions, celebrity style and the artistry behind India’s craft heritage.
The guest list reflected the evening’s mix of cinema, fashion and culture. Isha Ambani joined Ranveer Singh, Aamir Khan, Rashmika Mandanna, Kriti Sanon, Sara Ali Khan, Aditi Rao Hydari, Gauri Khan, Jackie Shroff and designer Manish Malhotra for the gathering. With Navratri approaching, the occasion placed Indian festive dressing and traditional artistic expressions at the centre of the celebration.
One moment that caught viewers’ attention was Ranveer Singh joining Nita Ambani and other guests for Garba. Videos of the actor dancing with the Reliance Foundation chairperson circulated on social media, giving the evening a spontaneous, festive energy. The moment also reflected the cultural spirit underpinning the celebration, where music, movement and shared traditions were as much a part of the experience as the guest list.

A Celebration Rooted in Indian Craft
Swadesh by Reliance was conceived to bring India’s traditional crafts, textiles and artisanal creations to a contemporary audience. The first standalone Swadesh store opened in Hyderabad in November 2023, followed by the Mumbai flagship at the historic Eros building on July 25, 2025. The concept centres on showcasing the work of Indian artisans while helping preserve traditional skills and craft practices.

The anniversary gathering carried that ethos into its celebration of Devi Shakti, connecting the festive occasion with India’s cultural traditions. Swadesh’s wider offering spans handloom textiles, handcrafted décor, jewellery and other artisanal objects, placing the skills and stories behind these creations at the heart of the retail experience.

This approach offers a way to engage with Indian heritage through objects shaped by regional techniques, traditional materials and generations of craftsmanship for luxury shoppers. It also highlights the artisans whose knowledge keeps these practices alive.

Festive Fashion Takes Centre Stage
Nita Ambani’s attire reflected the evening’s emphasis on Indian craftsmanship. She wore richly embroidered silk sarees in pink and magenta, featuring gold zari work and traditional detailing. The looks brought the artistry of Indian handloom textiles into focus, complemented by statement jewellery and classic festive styling.

Isha Ambani also embraced the occasion’s cultural theme, wearing a lehenga inspired by the Raas tradition associated with Radha and Krishna. Her appearance added another fashion moment to an evening where traditional Indian silhouettes and artisanal detailing took precedence.

The gathering also saw guests including Rashmika Mandanna, Kriti Sanon and Sara Ali Khan arrive in festive Indian ensembles, while the presence of designers and entertainment personalities brought together different facets of the country’s fashion and cultural landscape.
