From July 1, SAVWIPL took over Bentley’s import, distribution, and after-sales duties — marking it as the sixth luxury brand in the group’s India portfolio.

Bentley Motors Makes Grand Entry Into Indian Market With SAVWIPL

The British luxury carmaker officially launches operations in India through Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Pvt. Ltd., marking a new chapter in the country’s premium automotive landscape

July 10, 2025

In a landmark move that signals a bold step forward in India’s luxury automotive landscape, Bentley Motors has officially entered the Indian market under the umbrella of Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL). This marks a strategic consolidation of ultra-luxury automotive offerings under one umbrella, as Bentley joins the ranks of other high-end brands already managed by SAVWIPL, including Audi, Porsche, and Lamborghini.

The official operations began on July 1, ushering in a new phase for Bentley in India. While the marque has been present in the country for over two decades through import channels, this is the first time it has formalised its presence with a dedicated India entity, exclusive dealer partnerships, and structured service and sales support. Bentley India will now operate from three key metro cities — Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru — with fully equipped showrooms and service centres offering an immersive brand experience.

The move comes at a time when India’s ultra-high-net-worth population is growing at an accelerated pace. With increasing demand for bespoke, handcrafted luxury and high-performance engineering, Bentley’s formal entry is well-timed to cater to the evolving expectations of discerning Indian buyers. The market has witnessed a surge in interest for highly customised, statement-making vehicles that not only offer performance but also embody prestige, heritage, and global exclusivity.

At the helm of Bentley India is Abbey Thomas, appointed as Brand Director, bringing with him a strong background in automotive marketing and operations. With a deep understanding of the Indian consumer psyche, Thomas is expected to craft a strategy that positions Bentley not just as a carmaker but as a symbol of timeless luxury and aspiration. His leadership is backed by SAVWIPL’s robust infrastructure, which allows for streamlined logistics, compliance, after-sales support, and digital integration.

Piyush Arora, Managing Director and CEO of SAVWIPL, welcomed Bentley into the group portfolio, highlighting the brand’s legacy of craftsmanship and engineering excellence. He emphasised that the addition of Bentley completes SAVWIPL’s spectrum of offerings — from accessible luxury to the most exclusive super-luxury marques. Arora also noted that the move reflects SAVWIPL’s confidence in the growing maturity of the Indian luxury market.

The current portfolio in India will include the Bentayga — Bentley’s luxury SUV — with upcoming launches planned for the Flying Spur and Continental GT models. Each model will be tailored for the Indian consumer, with an emphasis on personalisation, craftsmanship, and on-ground support.

With an established partner like SAVWIPL and a growing customer base hungry for ultra-premium offerings, Bentley is poised to carve a formidable niche in India’s evolving automotive narrative.

This is more than just a brand entry — it’s a signal of India’s coming-of-age as a key destination for the world’s finest luxuries on four wheels.
