India is steadily establishing itself as the next big market for luxury watch brands, backed by a rising economy, expanding urban centres, and a new generation of consumers eager to embrace global luxury culture. The country’s young, aspirational demographic is not only investing in fine timepieces as symbols of success and status but is also beginning to appreciate the artistry, heritage, and craftsmanship that define high-end horology. At the same time, the growth of luxury retail, increased exposure through digital platforms, and the presence of established jewellers and watch boutiques have made international brands more accessible than ever before. This combination of tradition, modern aspiration, and economic strength positions India as a key growth hub for global watchmakers looking to tap into one of the world’s most promising luxury landscapes. Hublot has partnered with Indian watch retailer Kapoor Watch Company to create a 30-piece limited edition Classic Fusion Aerofusion Chronograph Ceramic King Gold Special Edition (Ref. 525.CO.0180.LR.DEL25) in India.
A skeleton dial is one of the most striking expressions of watchmaking artistry, offering a window into the intricate mechanics of a timepiece. Unlike traditional dials, which conceal the movement beneath, skeleton dials are meticulously cut away to reveal the gears, springs, and bridges in action, transforming functionality into visual poetry. This design not only celebrates craftsmanship but also highlights the technical sophistication and finishing details that often remain hidden from view.
Now talking of the newly launched timepiece, it has a 45mm case and bezel in satin-finished and polished black ceramic with an 18K King Gold crown at 3 o’clock, pushers at 2 o’clock, and 4 o’clock, with H-shaped screws. The skeleton black dial gets King Gold hour markers, minute track, sword shaped hour, minute, and chronograph second hands. There is a date ring in the centre with a window at 6 o’clock. The dial also gets a 30-minute sub-dial at 9 o’clock and a 60-minute sub-dial at 3 o’clock.
Powering the watch is calibre HUB1155, a self-winding movement with a 48-hour power reserve. Turning the watch showcases the sapphire crystal caseback with the engraving of ‘Special Edition’, H-shaped screws, an oscillating weight, and the engraving of the individual watch number out of 30. The watch gets a black rubber and alligator strap with a black plated stainless steel deployant buckle clasp in 18K King Gold.
