At Milan Fashion Week, Montblanc unveiled a surreal short film by Wes Anderson alongside its first-ever fashion show—blurring the lines between storytelling, style, and stationery
In a cinematic spectacle that perfectly combined fantasy, film, and fashion, Montblanc made its mark at Milan Fashion Week with the global premiere of its new short film, Let’s Write, directed by Wes Anderson. Hosted in the heart of Milan, this immersive event celebrated Montblanc’s enduring love for writing, creative expression, and the journey of ideas—delivered in the Maison’s signature sophisticated style.
Montblanc welcomed guests at Milan’s Central Station, where their adventure began not just metaphorically, but literally, aboard a real Montblanc Train. The destination? Squadra Rialzo Milano Centrale, a historical train depot transformed into the fantastical Montblanc Station—a whimsical departure hall straight out of a Wes Anderson scene. Complete with vintage travel cues and a pastel-toned atmosphere, the set design offered a beautiful visual prelude to the world of Let’s Write.

The short film, premiering globally on June 19, continues Montblanc’s creative partnership with Wes Anderson and co-director Roman Coppola. This second cinematic chapter follows the success of their 2023 collaboration and once again captures the brand’s heritage through a playful and meticulously stylised narrative lens. Featuring Rupert Friend, Waris Ahluwalia, and Esther McGregor, the film is a tribute to writing and the eccentric characters who live by their pens. The storytelling leans into Anderson’s trademark symmetry, quirky wit, and visual storytelling while remaining rooted in Montblanc’s DNA.
Actors and global ambassadors such as Joey King and Daniel Brühl were in attendance alongside regional faces like Seo Kangjun and Kerem Bürsin. Also seen were director Manolo Caro and actor Cooper Koch, making the guest list an eclectic blend of Hollywood and global cultural tastemakers.
But the real twist came midway through the gala dinner. As candlelight flickered across the vintage train carriages, darkness fell—and from this pause emerged Montblanc’s unexpected debut: its first-ever fashion presentation.
Sixteen looks, led by Montblanc’s Artistic Director Marco Tomasetta, hit the runway. Models stepped out of the train carriages in perfect synchrony, turning the depot into a catwalk like no other. At the centre of the capsule collection was a standout piece—the Montblanc leather jacket. Far from being just a fashion statement, Tomasetta’s designs reimagine Montblanc’s iconic desk as something wearable and intimate.
These jackets reflect the brand’s creative evolution, drawing from the rich archives in Hamburg and reinterpreting the spirit of the writer’s workspace into everyday attire. Styled with accessories from the Spring/Summer 2026 collection, each look was a tribute to the modern writer—adventurous, stylish, and ever in motion.
“I’ve spent the past four years deeply immersed in Montblanc’s archives,” said Tomasetta. “This collection is about bringing the essence of writing—its intimacy, its artistry—into what we wear. It’s the closest expression of the brand’s heart so far.”
