The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2025 is all over our feeds with Angels and their mighty wings making the headlines.The recently-concluded show that unfolded at the scenic Brooklyn waterfront in New York City had supermodels like Bella Hadid, Barbara Palvin, Gigi Hadid, along with body-positivity activist and presenter Ashley Graham, and American basketball player and cultural icon Angel Reese taking over the glamorous runway amongst other models.
The finale had supermodel Bella Hadid walking the runway with an astounding 50-pound pair of angel wings (22kgs) strapped to her back. The heavy weight of the wings visibly tested her balance, however, Bella Hadid maintained her poise and composure showing she’s no runway regular. In the videos circulating on social media, Bella Hadid is seen walking on the ramp flashing a confident smile as Tate McRae’s song “Sports Car” plays in the background. She emanated superstar energy wearing a white lingerie set embellished with silver fringe, paired with glittery white wings crafted from petal-like fabric.

Despite a confident walk, Bella Hadid drew some comments online from viewers who noted that she seemed to slow her pace. However, Hadid cleared all the haze mentioning on Instagram that the weight of the wings was quite a lot despite them being gorgeous. “Ok we’re not going to pretend these wings weren’t 50 pounds but HOW BEAUTIFUL,” she wrote in her Instagram story, turning criticism into a celebration of the craftsmanship behind the look.

Such elaborate Angel wings can take over 400 hours to construct, and are created from a mix of hardware, plastic, feathers, and hot-fixed Swarovski crystals. Bella Hadid now joins a long legacy of models who’ve carried these weighty masterpieces. In 2011, Alessandra Ambrosio famously wore wings weighing nearly 60 pounds, while Barbara Palvin walked with a 40-pound pair in 2024. In the previous editions, designs by Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show Angel’s wing designer Marian Hose have weighed from 15 to 18 pounds with heavyweight pairs like Pink Large Bow Wing, Secret Angel Fishnet Wing, and Road Ahead Woven Feather Disc.
