Omega boasts two strong associations. The first is with the iconic James Bond franchise, producing special-edition watches for each Bond film, making the Omega Seamaster, in particular, synonymous with the legendary spy 007.

The second notable association is with the world’s greatest multi-sport event, Olympics, as the official timekeeper since 1932. Just as the Olympics occur every four years, a new James Bond movie is typically released every three to four years. And what better way to celebrate than by to drop special edition watches to commemorate these landmark occasions. With a legacy of timekeeping excellence, Omega remains at the forefront of the world’s most prestigious events, ensuring every moment is captured with unparalleled precision.

At the ongoing Paris 2024 Summer Olympics, the highly anticipated men’s 100m race was decided by a mere 5/1000th of a second, thanks to Omega’s pioneering timekeeping innovations: the Magic Eye Photoelectric Cells and Slit Photofinish, first introduced at the London Games in 1948.

This year, to commemorate the Paris 2024 Olympics, the brand launched the Omega Paris 2024 Bronze Gold Edition, a special watch in recognition of the three coveted prizes at the Olympic Games, namely the Gold, Silver and Bronze, all in one timepiece. The Omega Paris 2024 Bronze Gold Edition incorporates the three legendary materials into one collector’s edition. Cased in slender 39mm, the watch is crafted in Omega’s exclusive Bronze Gold, an Ag 925 silver radiant dial, and hands in 18K Sedna™ Gold with a special PVD Bronze Gold coating.

The design pays homage to this global multi-sport event, with the Swiss watchmaker serving as the Official Timekeeper of the Olympic Games since 1932. The Paris 2024 Summer Olympics marks the 31st occasion of Omega timing the Olympics. An incredible achievement in itself! Since 1992, the legacy of timekeeping has further been extended to the Paralympic Games, where the brand has been the Official Timekeeper.

Old Meets New in Omega Paris 2024 Bronze Gold Edition

The Paris 2024 Bronze Gold Edition look is inspired by a classic vintage Omega wristwatch from 1939, representing the earliest years of timekeeping history. That watch was powered by Omega’s famed 30T manual-winding small seconds calibre, and featured “CK 859” on the technical sheets in reference to the material and case shape.  The round 39 mm case of the new timepiece Paris 2024 includes the engraving “BG 859” on the caseback as a reference to the watch’s shape and material and is made of Bronze Gold, Omega’s own proprietary alloy. Enriched with noble elements including 37.5% gold, hallmarked as 9K, as well as palladium and silver, this alloy imparts a distinctive and sublime look to the watch.

The silver dial features the “Clous de Paris” motif at the center of the watch along with a circular brushed pattern that frames the minute track and the small seconds subdial track at 6 o’clock, all complemented by the dark grey Omega logo in the brand’s heritage style

The perfectly balanced silver dial also features the “Clous de Paris” motif, a hallmark of meticulous and elegant French craftsmanship, at the center of the watch.  A circular brushed pattern frames the minute track and the small seconds subdial track at 6 o’clock, all complemented by the dark grey Omega logo in the brand’s heritage style, making the new edition an authentic reissue. On the reverse side, the caseback features a stamped and frosted Olympic Games Paris 2024 medallion, a testament to its special significance.

Enhancing this special timepiece is the brown calf-skin leather strap that comes with a sandblasted Bronze Gold buckle with a polished vintage Omega logo. Even the watch’s crown sports the same vintage logo embossed to perfection.

Omega Paris 2024 Bronze Gold Edition is priced at INR 1169700 in India

Befitting the exacting standards of timekeeping at its highest level, this remarkable timepiece guarantees unparalleled precision and performance. Powered by the Omega Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8926, a manual-winding movement that pays modern tribute to the original 30T2 movement, it ensures the highest level of accuracy. Each watch comes with a certificate verifying it has passed the rigorous Master Chronometer tests set by METAS (the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology), included within the special presentation box housing the timepiece.
