With the introduction of the Q6 e-tron SUV’s rear- wheel-drive version, Audi is preparing to revolutionise the EV space in India. With an estimated starting price of Rs 1 crore (ex-showroom), this new variation, which is anticipated to arrive by 2025, falls between the high-performance SQ6 e-tron and the Q6 e-tron Quattro. Despite this, it delivers an outstanding combination of luxury, advanced technology and a longer range.

Despite being the entry model, this Q6 e-tron rear- wheel-drive model has a single electric motor that produces 326 PS and is fuelled by a 94.9 kWh battery pack that is standard on all models. Its rear-wheel-drive system allows it to have the greatest stated range of its brothers, up to 641 km (WLTP).

Additionally, it can be charged for 260 km of range in just 10 minutes with 270 kW DC fast charging, making it ideal for unplanned trips.

Feature-Rich Inside and Out

The Q6 e-tron transports you to a luxurious, futuristic lounge as soon as you enter. An 11.9-inch driver display, a 14.5-inch infotainment touchscreen, and a 10.9-inch co-passenger screen—all of which are connected to Audi’s AI assistant—welcome you with a triple-screen arrangement. A 20-speaker, 830W Bang & Olufsen 3D sound system, wireless phone charging, and multi-zone climate control complete this luxurious interior.

Top Safety Ratings for Peace of Mind

With a 5-star Euro NCAP certification, the Q6 e-tron proves that safety is a non-negotiable. It performed exceptionally well in every area, including pedestrian safety, standard driver aid systems, and the protection of both adult and child occupants. In fact, it presently holds the title of ‘Best in Class’ among all automobiles tested in 2023–2024, with a 92% rating in kid safety. It is further distinguished by special safety features, including automatic airbag deactivation for rear-facing seats and three seats that are compatible with i-Size child seats.

Designed for the Drive

Constructed for enthusiasts, the Q6 e-tron boasts a rear-biased drivetrain for enhanced handling and agility, a redesigned front axle, and enhanced steering feel. With adjustable ride height and damping settings, you can customise the driving experience and go from a comfortable cruiser to a dynamic performance with ease.

A Premium Alternative in the EV Space

The Audi Q6 e-tron will go up against electric SUVs like the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, and Volvo C40 Recharge when it makes its debut in India. However, it presents itself as a high-end, future-ready lifestyle option for the discriminating Indian consumer thanks to its wide variety, state-of-the-art technology, and distinctive Audi luxury.

Final Verdict

There is more to the new Audi Q6 e-tron rear-wheel drive than meets the eye. With performance, range, and refinement that are all distinctively Audi, it’s a daring move towards sustainable luxury. This one is well worth the wait if you want to go electric without compromising style or comfort.
