Some watches tell time. Others tell the world exactly who you are. When Badshah strapped on the Pink Barbie Rolex, he did not just enter elite collector territory, he rewrote the rulebook of luxury flex in India. With only ten pieces in existence and a price tag brushing the one million dollar mark, this is not a watch you stumble upon in a boutique window. It is a cultural artefact wrapped in pink sapphires, diamonds and unapologetic attitude. Equal parts high jewellery and horological royalty, the Barbie Rolex feels less like a timekeeper and more like a mic drop on the wrist, perfectly suited to an artist who has never believed in blending into the background.

Case, Materials And Design

The watch features a 40 mm Oyster case, crafted from 18k gold, polished to a mirror finish. The bezel is set with baguette-cut pink sapphires, precision-matched for colour and clarity, creating a seamless ring of vivid pink fire around the dial. The lugs and case shoulders are further embellished with factory-set diamonds, elevating the watch firmly into the realm of high jewellery horology. The dial continues the theme with a fully gem-set pink surface, complemented by 12 diamond hour markers and contrasting chronograph sub-dials that preserve the Daytona’s unmistakable layout. Gold can also be found on the chronograph pushers at 2 o’clock, 4 o’clock, and also on the crown at 3 o’clock.

Movement And Performance

At the heart of the Barbie Rolex beats the Rolex Calibre 4130, one of the most respected automatic chronograph movements ever produced. Entirely developed and manufactured in-house, the movement features a column wheel and vertical clutch, ensuring precise chronograph engagement and exceptional reliability. The Calibre 4130 operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and offers a power reserve of approximately 72 hours, making it as practical as it is prestigious. Certified as a Superlative Chronometer, it guarantees accuracy within 2/+2 seconds per day, exceeding standard COSC requirements.

Bracelet And Wearability

The watch is paired with Rolex’s iconic Oyster bracelet, executed in matching 18k gold and set with diamonds along the centre links. Despite its jewel-heavy construction, the bracelet retains Rolex’s renowned comfort and durability, secured by the Oysterlock folding clasp with Easylink extension system.
