Fashion On A Plate: Luxury Fashion Houses And Their Culinary Ventures Around The World

Where couture meets cuisine — inside the stylish cafes and restaurants owned by the world’s top fashion houses

June 5, 2025

In the ever-evolving world of luxury, fashion houses are no longer confined to runways and wardrobes. In recent years, the boundary between style and lifestyle has increasingly blurred, giving rise to a delicious new frontier: cafes and restaurants owned and operated by iconic fashion brands. These ventures are more than just stylish eateries — they are immersive brand experiences, where haute couture meets haute cuisine.

From Paris to Tokyo, Milan to Seoul, here are some of the most notable culinary destinations run by the world’s most famous fashion houses.

Louis Vuitton’s Le Café V – Osaka and Seoul

Known for its unmatched workmanship and heritage in luxurious go, Louis Vuitton has just entered the culinary world. Located atop the magnificent Louis Vuitton Maison Osaka Midosuji in Osaka, Japan, Le Café V marked the brand’s first significant venture in 2020.

Le Café V is a light-filled, spacious restaurant created by architect Jun Aoki that features speciality coffee, exquisite café cuisine and beautifully presented sweets that mirror LV’s exacting aesthetics. Not far away is Sugalabo V, a private restaurant that requires reservations and was created in partnership with famed Japanese chef Yosuke Suga. Its omakase-style menu, which is served on special Louis Vuitton tableware, combines Japanese ingredients with French culinary perfection.

Inside its flagship Maison in Cheongdam, Louis Vuitton debuted its first Le Café V in Seoul in 2023. It featured a rooftop terrace and branded pastries. From monogrammed plates to the exquisite presentation of matcha mille-feuille, the attention to detail demonstrates LV’s commitment to making every encounter distinctively Vuitton.

Dior Café – Paris, Seoul, Miami, and Beyond

Christian Dior famously said, “Living in a house that doesn’t reflect who you are is akin to wearing someone else’s clothes.” That ethos is beautifully translated into Dior Cafés, elegant spaces that reflect the brand’s timeless sophistication. Located inside Dior’s flagship boutiques in cities like Paris, Seoul, and Miami, the cafés are a serene oasis of luxury.

The café at 30 Avenue Montaigne in Paris serves traditional French pastries to patrons in an environment that embodies Dior’s style: think cane chairs, sophisticated dinnerware, and a colour scheme taken directly from a couture collection. Rose-flavored pastries, branded cappuccinos, and a menu designed for affluent palates are among the signature features.

Gucci Osteria – Florence, Beverly Hills, Tokyo, and Seoul

When two worlds ruled by Italian excellence — fashion and food — collide, the result is Gucci Osteria. Launched in collaboration with Michelin-starred chef Massimo Bottura, Gucci Osteria first opened in Florence in 2018 and has since expanded to Beverly Hills, Tokyo, and Seoul.

Each location offers a unique menu blending Bottura’s whimsical culinary style with local ingredients and cultural references. The decor is theatrical and colorful — velvet seating, patterned wallpaper, and antique touches — an ideal setting for both a tasting menu and an Instagram moment.

Ralph’s Coffee and The Polo Bar – New York and Worldwide

One of the first high-end designers to see lifestyle as an extension of fashion was Ralph Lauren. Among his hospitality endeavours is Ralph’s Coffee, which has branches in New York, Tokyo, and Paris and offers house-made pastries and specially blended coffee in a welcoming, retro-inspired atmosphere. The Polo Bar in Manhattan, a softly lit, wood-paneled establishment offering sophisticated comfort cuisine (think prime steaks and crab cakes) with a dash of vintage charm, is where the brand’s American origins are most noticeable.

Armani Ristorante – Milan, Dubai, Tokyo, and More

No one embodies sleek minimalism like Giorgio Armani, and his restaurants mirror that aesthetic perfectly. Armani/Ristorante, found in cities like Milan and Dubai, offers high-end dining in settings defined by clean lines and subdued palettes. Located in the Armani Hotel Milano, the flagship restaurant serves elevated Italian cuisine with a modern twist, including saffron risotto with gold leaf, and wines from Armani’s own collection.

Fashionable Dining: A Growing Trend

Luxury fashion cafés and restaurants are no longer a novelty — they’re a sophisticated brand extension strategy. These curated spaces allow customers to not just wear a brand but live it — to sip, taste, and experience the values of heritage, craft, and aesthetic excellence.

Whether it’s a monogrammed dessert at Le Café V, a whimsical tasting menu at Gucci Osteria, or an espresso in Wes Anderson’s pastel world, these culinary ventures prove one thing: in the world of high fashion, good taste is everywhere — especially on your plate.
