Fratelli Vineyards unveils a new chapter for SETTE, its flagship label, with a limited edition product created in collaboration with celebrated couturier Manish Malhotra. The release arrives as the wine marks fifteen years. One house is known for sculpting silhouettes that have defined Indian cinema and couture for decades. The other has quietly shaped some of the country’s most ambitious fine wines. Together, they turn a bottle into an object of desire.

For Malhotra, the partnership was instinctive. Reflecting on the association, he told Outlook Luxe, ‘When I look at Fratelli, I see the same precision and passion that guide my own work. For over three decades in cinema and fashion, I have believed that true luxury lies in detail and dedication. With Fratelli, I recognised that spirit instantly. It felt natural to come together and create something rooted in heritage and unmistakably contemporary.’
That spirit is mirrored in the wine itself. The anniversary vintage has been drawn from Fratelli’s oldest vineyard parcels, planted in 2007, with deliberately low yields that intensify character and depth.

Gaurav Sekhri, Managing Director of Fratelli Vineyards, sees the partnership as an organic extension of the brand’s journey. ‘Collaborating with Manish Malhotra for this edition was a natural choice; his design language, rooted in heritage yet boldly modern, perfectly reflects the journey of SETTE. This limited edition celebrates time, craftsmanship, and a shared vision of contemporary Indian luxury.’
Malhotra’s imprint is most striking in the bottle, conceived as a couture object in its own right. Cloaked in textured gold with accents of black, it draws from the drama and refinement that define his design language. Speaking of the palette, he reflects, ‘For me, colour tells the story before anything else. Gold carries a sense of celebration and occasion. It feels luminous, dressed up, inherently luxurious, which is why it has always been central to my brand. Black, on the other hand, is timeless. I live in black. It is classic, confident and endlessly elegant. Together, black and gold create a powerful frame for a red wine.’

As a wine enthusiast, Malhotra approached the collaboration with personal interest. ‘This is one of my first associations with a wine label, and I wanted every element, from the design process to the final reveal, to feel exceptional. When someone holds this bottle, it should not only look luxurious but also reflect the finesse of a truly fine wine.’

Within the sculptural exterior lies a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Sangiovese, matured exclusively in French oak. The wine opens with notes of raspberry, violet and blackcurrant, layered with gentle hints of vanilla and spice.
