There was a time when rose gold was regarded as a sentimental flourish, a blush tinted indulgence reserved for those who preferred romance over rigour. Today, however, this alloy has ascended to a position of undeniable prominence within the pantheon of precious metals, its copper infused warmth offering not merely aesthetic allure but a quietly confident assertion of modern luxury. In the world of haute horology, where materiality is as much philosophy as ornament, rose gold has become an emblem of cultivated taste, balancing opulence with restraint. It is therefore fitting that Armin Strom, a maison celebrated for its technical audacity and transparent mechanics, should choose this noble alloy to frame one of its most intellectually compelling creations. With the introduction of the Dual Time GMT Resonance Rose Gold (Ref. RG25.DT.75), the independent manufacture does not merely present a new timepiece; it offers a meditation on synchrony and global citizenship, marrying its patented resonance technology with a dual time complication designed for collectors whose lives unfold across continents, yet whose appreciation for mechanical poetry remains singular and exacting.

The 39mm rose gold softens the polished surfaces and sharp bevels while retaining the trademark features; the bezel lip at 6 o’clock, twin crowns at 4 o’clock and 8 o’clock for independent time zone adjustment, and sapphire crystals on both sides with AR treatment. On the dial side, the design is immediately identifiable but visually distinct. The two time displays are in black gold grenage, framed by black azurage chapter rings, and have engraved and mirror-polished day/night indicators at 6 o’clock on each dial.

Rose gold-coloured hour markers, and polished hour, and minute hands complete the look. The upper section shows the two balance wheels oscillating in full view, connected by Armin Strom’s resonance clutch spring. The ratchet mechanism is located at the bottom, between the barrels. On the dial side, the engraved and mirror-polished day/night indicators showing the sun and moon located at 6 o’clock of each dial.

Powering the watch is the manufacture calibre ARF22, a manual-winding movement developed entirely in-house. The movement employs two independent gear trains and regulating systems, synchronised through resonance, operating at 25,200 vibrations/hour (3.5Hz) with a 42-hour power reserve. The movement’s finishing is exemplary on both sides, and, as with all Armin Strom watches, it is assembled twice to ensure precision and finishing quality. Turning the watch over, the sapphire caseback showcasing the intricate architecture of the meticulously finished movement, the hand-polished bevels, screws, and countersinks, along with circular graining, perlage, and Geneva stripes, and twin barrels. The Dual Time GMT Resonance Rose Gold is worn on an anthracite alligator leather strap, closed with a rose gold pin buckle.
