I vicoli della città vecchia sono meravigliosi (perdonate il mio italiano, sto ancora imparando!)
Walking into Vicoli, it’s hard not to believe you’ve wandered off a narrow street somewhere in Italy. For a fleeting moment, Gurugram recedes, replaced by a European illusion.

Finding Europe Where You Least Expect It
Located on Golf Course Road, Vicoli is a newly opened European-inspired restaurant and bar that knows exactly how to make a strong first impression. Architecturally, the space is ambitious yet composed: soaring arches, tactile surfaces, a warm wash of golden light, and thoughtfully placed greenery that softens the urban skyline beyond. The effect is cinematic without being overwrought.

Vicoli’s Many Personalities
One of Vicoli’s biggest strengths is how easily it shifts moods. There’s a high-energy private club tucked inside, recently in the spotlight when Arjun Rampal surprised guests by taking over DJ duties – for those who like their nights loud.

The main dining area, by contrast, is calmer and more intimate, ideal for long conversations and relaxed meals.

Then there’s the terrace, offering panoramic views of Gurugram’s skyline, good food, and enough space for larger groups. That all these experiences coexist without feeling disjointed is no small feat.

European Favourites, Reimagined For A Modern Palate
The menu stays rooted in European flavours, leaning into comfort with just enough flair. The Charcoal Hummus sets the tone early – jet black from activated charcoal, lightly earthy, finished with truffle and parmesan.

It looks dramatic, sure, but more importantly, it tastes balanced. Paired with warm pita, it’s soulful and satisfying. The Black and White Quinoa Salad delivers what it promises made with baby spinach, pomegranate, goma dressing, generous portions. It doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel, and that straightforward honesty works in its favour. The Grilled John Dory arrives looking impressive, though flavour-wise, it plays it safe.

But Vicoli truly comes into its own with its heartier dishes. The Greek-style chicken souvlaki is excellent: juicy, well-marinated, grilled just right. The pita arrives warm enough to steam when torn, while the vegetables and tzatziki keep things fresh and lively.

The Gouda Fondue is another standout: rich, smoky, indulgent and made better by a mix of cold cuts that add salt and texture, keeping the dish from tipping into excess. The Garlic Butter Lamb Chops arrive perfectly pink in the centre, layered with garlic, rosemary, and buttery richness, lifted by a subtle citrus note. Decadent, yes, but never overwhelming – a harmony of flavours in every bite.
Flirty, Daring, And Perfectly Balanced Cocktails

Vicoli’s cocktails are as thoughtfully crafted as its plates. Inspired by personality archetypes – the Casanova, Entertainer, Rebel, and Diva – each drink blends modern mixology with narrative flair and while it could feel gimmicky, it doesn’t.

The Casanova, in particular, stands out because it’s smooth, layered, and all things fun.

Vicoli isn’t in Europe, nor does it need to be. Quite frankly, it offers a rare gift to its diners: a breather from the chaos of a city where everyone seems to be in a hurry.
