A minute repeater, flying tourbillon and fully skeletonised movement unite in H. Moser & Cie.'s latest novelty, where celestial artistry meets one of modern watchmaking's most technically ambitious mechanical creations

A minute repeater is the voice of haute horology. A flying tourbillon is its beating heart. Bringing either complication to life demands extraordinary craftsmanship; combining both inside a single movement is a feat reserved for the rarest watchmakers. Add a fully skeletonised calibre to the equation, and you enter an entirely different realm, where engineering becomes performance and every component is exposed for the world to admire. H. Moser & Cie. has now elevated that philosophy with the Endeavour Minute Repeater Tourbillon Concept Cosmic Rain, a breathtaking 20-piece limited edition that transforms one of its most technically accomplished watches into a celestial work of art. Inspired by a meteor shower streaking across the night sky, it pairs an aventurine and mother-of-pearl dial with extraordinary mechanical architecture, proving that the finest complications can be as poetic as they are precise.

The 40mm titanium case is engineered as more than just a protective shell.

The 40mm titanium case is engineered as more than just a protective shell. Hollowed internally to function as a resonance chamber, it amplifies the rich, expressive chime of the minute repeater while keeping the watch remarkably lightweight and wearable. Beneath the sapphire crystal, the fully skeletonised display reveals almost every moving component, while a domed aventurine fumé subdial at 2 o’clock, adorned with delicate mother-of-pearl inlays resembling shooting stars, provides a striking cosmic contrast against the exposed mechanics.

The dial side places the minute repeater centre stage, exposing its hammers and gongs in full view. Unlike conventional repeaters, where the gongs occupy different levels, Moser integrates both onto a single plane, a highly demanding feat requiring exceptional precision in shaping, alignment and acoustic tuning. Every bridge, lever and wheel has been reduced to its essential form, allowing unobstructed visibility without compromising structural integrity or sound quality. The result is a fascinating mechanical theatre where every chime is both heard and seen.

Adding yet another layer of complexity is the one minute flying tourbillon at 6 o'clock

Adding yet another layer of complexity is the one minute flying tourbillon at 6 o’clock fitted with a cylindrical hairspring, suspended elegantly within the skeletonised architecture. Designed to minimise the effects of gravity on timekeeping, the cylindrical hairspring is considerably more difficult to manufacture than conventional flat springs, making it one of haute horology’s rarest technical achievements. Positioned within the open movement, the constantly rotating tourbillon appears to dance in harmony with the vibrating repeater mechanism, creating a mesmerising interplay between motion, sound and light.

Powering this masterpiece is the hand wound manufacture HMC 909 calibre, an architectural marvel comprising more than 400 individual components. Fully skeletonised and built in three dimensions, the movement integrates the minute repeater and flying tourbillon within a single open framework while delivering an impressive 90-hour power reserve. Every component is meticulously hand finished and decorated, reflecting traditional Swiss craftsmanship taken to its absolute limits.

Completing the watch is a hand stitched grey nubuck alligator leather strap that subtly complements

Completing the watch is a hand stitched grey nubuck alligator leather strap that subtly complements the cool titanium case and celestial dial. Limited to just 20 pieces worldwide, the Endeavour Minute Repeater Tourbillon Concept Cosmic Rain is far more than a showcase of technical mastery. It is a multisensory experience where astronomy, acoustics and haute horology converge, reminding collectors that the greatest watches are capable not only of measuring time, but of transforming it into art.
