Shine Bright Like An Emerald

Must-have styles to embrace the evergreen trend

April 25, 2024

They are elegant. They are eternal. And they deserve a song of their own. Emeralds with their striking iridescent hue make a powerful statement. There hasn’t been a bigger year for emeralds than 2024. And we have not seen a bigger emerald than the one sported by Nita Ambani, chairperson and founder of the Reliance Foundation, at the extravagant pre-wedding fiesta for their youngest son Anant Ambani and his fiancée Radhika Merchant in Jamnagar which witnessed attendees from around the world. She paired the impressive emerald and diamond necklace, studded with pairs of smaller emeralds held together by two massive bricks of the green gemstones with matching earrings, bangles, and rings. According to several online reports, the green rocks on the necklace worn by Nita Ambani are valued at around INR 400 to INR 500 crore.

Chosen as the object of desire by those with a taste in fine jewellery, the enduring appeal of emeralds has made them a hot favourite amongst royalty and celebrities alike. Emerald jewellery is a timeless and elegant choice that adds sophistication and glamour to any look, making it a classic accessory that never goes out of style.

Internationally, Angelina Jolie kicked off this trend a decade ago by wearing stunning Lorraine Schwartz’s emerald earrings and ring at the 2009 Academy Awards. And ever since, several celebrities have shut down the red carpet with their dazzling emeralds.

Recently, Ivanka Trump wore a stunning Manish Malhotra high jewellery set including a diamond emerald necklace, maang tika and earrings for Anant and Radhika Ambani’s pre-wedding events, while Bulgari Global Ambassador, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, wore a pair of High Jewelry pear emerald earrings to the 2023 DKMS Gala at Cipriani Wall Street tonight in New York City.
