From Runway to Rosé: Inside Fashion’s Ultra-Luxe Beach Club Takeover

This summer, the hottest runway isn’t in Paris—it’s poolside. From Dior in Saint-Tropez to Jacquemus in Mykonos, fashion’s elite are turning beach clubs into the ultimate luxury playground

June 7, 2025

Who needs the front row when you’ve got a monogrammed front-row sunbed?

Luxury fashion has officially made its beach debut and is elevating the term “resort wear” to spectacular new heights.

In an era where experience is crucial, fashion labels are moving from the runway to cabanas. Welcome to the era of high fashion beach clubs, where the top designers in the world transform sun-kissed beaches from Ibiza to Xiamen into branded havens. Not all pop-ups are the same. These are complete brand universes—experiential playgrounds where logos gleam in the sunlight, limited-edition collections are just waiting to be discovered, and the spritzes are just as well selected as the clothing.

Branded Bliss: Where Fashion Meets the Sea

Forget traditional retail; luxury buyers in 2025 are drawn to immersive experiences. Not only do they want to wear Dior, but they also want to drink a piña colada while gripping a Dior parasol, a monogrammed towel underneath, and a luxury tote next to them. Additionally, fashion labels are delivering with chic takeovers that combine luxury with escape.

At the heart of this sun-drenched trend is Saint-Tropez, which has always been a shining example of glamour. Through a meticulously planned pop-up, Dior has launched its Dioriviera capsule at Shellona Beach, which will remain open until September. Imagine monogrammed goods, nautical-chic swimwear, and a boutique that resembles a carefully designed dreamscape rather than a physical store.

Down the coast, Jacquemus owns Indie Beach with its bright yellow lounge chairs and a boutique that sells everything from gold-accented straw hats to the well-known Chiquito bag. It’s bold, airy, and incredibly postable.

Gucci has also seized a piece of the Riviera, not to be outdone. Gucci’s distinctive style is brought to beach loungers and neighbouring boutiques via the brand’s Summer Stories takeover at Loulou Ramatuelle. Its accompanying capsule collection, which was created with a discriminating Instagram audience in mind, is just as gorgeous as the location.

Beyond Europe: Global Glamor Gets a Suntan

Although the majority of fashion beach takeovers focus on Europe’s famous coasts, certain brands are reaching a broader audience.

On Huangcuo Beach, Xiamen Island, China, Louis Vuitton opened LV By The Pool after deciding to go east and deviate from the crowd. An LV shop in this calm, lesser-known location offers high-end ready-to-wear, shoes, and accessories, making it a chic getaway from the typical tourist crush.

Meanwhile, with a colourful takeover of Puente Romano Resort in Marbella, Spain, Fendi made its flamboyant beach debut. The partnership, which includes a local pop-up displaying the season’s must-have styles, combines Mediterranean beauty with quintessential Fendi elegance.

The Collab You Didn’t Know You Needed

Furthermore, this summer’s truces leverage new retail connections. The Folie Sun Deck has been converted into a sun-drenched fashion lounge in Turkey as part of the daring METT Bodrum x FARFETCH project. Theme parties, yellow loungers, and QR codes on each cabana let visitors browse the carefully chosen METT holiday edit while sipping cocktails. All summer long, it’s a blend of digital and sumptuous.

Italian Elegance, Reimagined

In this game, Italy has its own iconography. A tribute to Italian style is Valentino’s collaboration with Palazzo Avino on the Amalfi Coast. Covered in the brand’s distinctive crimson, the five-star hotel’s Clubhouse by the Sea features unique furnishings and a special retail featuring the Escape capsule collection. For individuals who aspire to wear Valentino red, it is a sanctuary of high fashion.

Likewise, Casa Amor in Saint-Tropez has been infused with Dolce & Gabbana’s Sicilian enchantment. One of four international locations staging a DG Resort takeover this year is the beach club, which is decked up in the recognisable Carretto Siciliano print. It is the pinnacle of fashion meets fantasy, with a Mediterranean flair and Italian culture at its heart.

A New Chapter in Luxury Living

What ties all these beach clubs together? A mindset shift. Today’s luxury consumers aren’t just shopping—they’re seeking a lifestyle. These designer beach experiences are more than just marketing—they’re manifestations of the brand itself. They engage all senses: the visuals, the scent of the ocean, the clink of rosé glasses, the texture of designer beachwear. This is luxury you can live in—just long enough to share on Stories and dream about long after.
